Daily Racing Tips – Saturday 1st August

Check out a selection of our Saturday Racing Tips for August 1st below, including Flemington best bets on Aurie’s Star Handicap Day and Rosehill tips!

Rosehill: Race 6
No. 3 Enviable

ENVIABLE returned to action for a smart win up at Newcastle and gets a great chance to go on with it in metro company.

The Chris Waller-trained filly turned in some fine performances last time in, finishing on the placegetters’ heels in the Group 1 Flight Stakes before ending her campaign a close second behind Salty Pearl in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic.

The $1.12 bet about her in that Newcastle maiden was justified when she kicked away to win easily, and with natural improvement, she can certainly go on with it.

Second-up. First-up after nine months favourite; came from midfield and won by 2.5 len at Newcastle Mdn-Sw July 14 over 1400m in soft going defeating Hellfighter carrying 57kg at $1.12. Previously second-up 3rd of 10 at Warwick Farm Super 3yo Mdn on September 3 over 1400m, on a slow track; 0.7 len behind Attica carrying 55kg at $14. Flemington: Race 5
No. 2 Stealth Of Night

STEALTH OF NIGHT was a strong and consistent performer during her first two racing preparations, winning four of eight starts, placing on every other occasion and finding form around some classy individuals.

Her first up run this time was one of a horse that clearly required a hit-out, and with natural improvement, relief in the weights and launching from the good barrier, she can keep alive an unbeaten second up record.

Previously second-up won by 0.5 len at Sandown-Lakeside Bm70 December 10 over 1400m defeating Thorin with 57kg at $1.80. Better for that and her best form reads well.

Flemington: Race 8
No. 10 Sass Appeal

SASS APPEAL hasn’t been seen at the races since March, but she enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence during her debut prep, winning four of five starts and finishing the runner up on the other occasion.

Having trialled up a treat, anything close to her best would be good enough to see her account for this field.

Rosehill: Race 10
No. 12 Jarrito

JARRITO has won two of three runs back this campaign, bookending a tough performance for fourth in a race not dissimilar to this one in June, where she finished within a length of the winner.

In peak order this weekend, she’s down in the weights and gets conditions to suit in another suitable contest.
