Daily Racing Tips – Saturday 15th August

Our Daily Racing Tips for Saturday cover Rosehill and Doomben, with a Rosebud tip included in a big day of racing.

The race analysis looks at the key runners, main winning chances and best betting opportunities across the two meetings.

Rosehill Race 8 – LISTED ROSEBUD (1100 METRES)
No. 6 Blue Door

BLUE DOOR (6) returns to the races for the first time since winning the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes on debut.

The Bjorn Baker-trained filly raced outside the lead over this course and distance before finding the line strongly to beat The Next Episode by a head.

She looks ready for a bold first-up showing following a slick trial, where she worked home under her own steam with Gangster Granny.

Rachel King should land on speed and give plenty of cheek.

6. Blue Door (4)
J: Rachel King 56.5kg
1xT: Bjorn Baker
Resuming after a break; only one run when won by a head in the G3 Kindergarten Stakes at Randwick on April 4 over 1100m on a soft track defeating The Next Episode with 54.5kg at $4.40. Exciting filly expected to fight out the finish.

Doomben Race 8 – BUNDABERG RUM Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 78 Handicap (1200 METRES)
No. 6 Grinzinger Champ

GRINZINGER CHAMP (6) has settled in well at Jack Bruce’s stable following a move from Danny O’Brien’s Victorian operation.

The Wootton Bassett mare worked home well first-up at Eagle Farm to finish fourth, beaten 3.29 lengths, before storming home over this course and distance to win impressively by 1.23 lengths.

She continued her hot form last start when charging home with 60kg to salute by just over half a length.

The lightly raced mare faces her toughest challenge yet, but she looks more than capable of rising to the occasion.

Racing well recently. Last start favourite; came from midfield and won by 0.7 len at this track on August 1 over 1200m defeating Spirit Of Barty with 60kg at $1.90. Before that favourite; won by 1.2 len at this track on July 18 over 1200m on a rain affected track defeating Spirit Of Barty with 54.5kg at $4.20. Laboured a bit under the big weight last time but showed fight – sure to be in the finish again.

Rosehill Race 9 – RACING AND SPORTS HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
No. 1 Attica

ATTICA (1) returns as a gelding, and the procedure appears to have had the desired effect.

The Joe Pride-trained son of Lonhro has looked super in two trials, where he raced on speed on each occasion to finish in the placings with the likes of Jimmysstar and Beiwacht.

He is the class runner in the field, having won the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes, and he has previously won first-up over this distance.

It will be interesting to see where Adam Hyeronimus settles from the sticky barrier, but regardless, I think his class will shine through.

First up last campaign fourth of 7 at this track in the G2 Hobartvlle February 21 over 1400m, 2.25 len behind Ninja carrying 56.5kg at $15. Gelded over the break and can pull out a big run fresh.

Doomben Race 9 – LADBROKES BIG BETS COPY NOW OPEN Handicap (1200 METRES)
No. 3 Pereille

PEREILLE (3) returns from a short let-up after producing an outstanding effort in the Listed Ramornie Handicap.

The Tony Gollan-trained gelding settled a long way back after drawing wide before charging home once clear to finish second, beaten 1.19 lengths.

Every race he has contested this preparation has been at black-type level, so he should appreciate getting back to Open company.

Jimmy Orman is a positive jockey booking, and the abundance of speed in the race will be to his liking.

Comes off a 31 day let-up. At the latest run took up a position near the tail 2nd of 15 in the LR Ramornie Handicap at Grafton on July 15 over 1200m, 1.2 len behind Band Of Brothers carrying 55.5kg at $9. Before that 3rd of 13 in the G3 WJ Healy Stakes at Eagle Farm on June 27 over 1200m, slow going 0.6 len behind Yellow Brick carrying 54.5kg at $10. That stakes form will stack up nicely here.
