Randwick: Race 6
No. 1 Overpass

OVERPASS (19) has proven to be one of the toughest horses in Australia for several years now, picking off a couple of Group 1 feature races alongside several other big and lucrative contests.

His fresh record is nothing short of outstanding, and while he will need some early luck to find the lead from a wide alley, he’ll be extremely hard to run down if he does manage to take it up in the Sydney Stakes 2026.

Randwick: Race 8
No. 3 Skyhook

Having ended his last preparation with some strong performances for victory in black type company, SKYHOOK (5) has undoubtedly gone to another level this time in, winning both the Theo Marks Stakes and the Shannon Stakes easily.

With one eye on the Golden Eagle in a fortnight, he’s drawn ideally and can stamp himself as one of Sheza Alibi’s major obstacles by winning again in the Silver Eagle.

Caulfield: Race 9
No. 10 Wine Dark Sea
Each Way

WINE DARK SEA (19) has been excellent in some of Europe’s top staying features this year, winning three of four starts at his latest preparation, including the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes over 2617m at Newbury in August, beating home the likes of Dubai Honour and lugging 61kgs to success.

With one eye on a Melbourne Cup, he just needs some luck in the run but certainly looks up to the class of the 2026 Caulfield Cup field.

Caulfield: Race 10
No. 12 Concorde Connie

CONCORDE CONNIE (10) enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence when winning three-consecutive races during her autumn prep, highlighted by an incredible six-length romp over 1400m at Flemington.

She trialled up well and was only just denied over 1200m at Mornington when resuming this season but stripping fitter and getting back out to her pet trip this week’s Tristarc Stakes should suit her right down to the ground.
