You’re in the right place for our Monday Greyhound Tips for August 17th, featuring our Casino best bets!
This is a competitive Casino sprint with a few runners capable of winning if they get the right run.
Steely Dawn has the quickest exposed time among the main chances at 23.30, while Watch The Diva and Mighty Alan have also shown enough speed to be right in the finish.
Steely Dawn gets the nod for me, with the recent 3155 formline suggesting she’s capable of bouncing back to her best.
| 2. Steely Dawn (2) 73155T: Charles Northfield | |||
| Missed the frame latest (24.31) when fifth over 411m at this track in a Grade 4/5. Goes well out of this box with a win and two minors. Has ability and looks a key chance. | |||
This looks a really open Casino sprint, with several runners possessing the speed to win if they get the right passage.
Joker Bonus has the quickest best time in the field at 23.19, while Sausage Gambler brings remarkably consistent recent form and Reality Zero has enough early speed to be competitive.
Sausage Gambler looks well placed coming out of the low draw and I am happy to be with him.
| 2. Sausage Gambler (2) 3×334T: Patrick Lavis | |||
| Latest effort finished 4th in a Grade 5 on July 30 over 411m at this track behind Pass The Peppa beaten 6 lengths (24.08). Recorded three placings in a row prior to the latest effort. Worth another chance. | |||
This is another competitive Casino sprint, but I think there are a couple of runners that stand above the rest on the combination of current form and proven speed.
Teneille has been racing very consistently with consecutive runner-up finishes and owns a strong 23.37 benchmark, while Kingsbrae Nola has the quickest exposed time at 23.20 and Best On Line arrives off a last-start win.
Teneille gets the nod for me, with her current consistency making her the safest option in an otherwise open race.
| 5. Teneille (5) 72322T: Francis Hancock | |||
| Fast starter. Last start finished 2nd on July 30 over 411m at this track behind Highest Mouse beaten a nose (23.56) in a Grade 5. Capable of a strong show. | |||
This looks a very interesting short-course dash, with Risky Special bringing outstanding recent form and a 16.63 best, while Kooringa Kate and Bye Bye Robyn have also shown enough speed to be major players.
Misty Bonus owns a strong 16.90 benchmark but needs to improve on her recent form, while Swift Grant has been competitive without quite finding his best.
Risky Special gets the nod after a 2111 sequence and looks the runner most likely to control the race from the outset.
| 7. Risky Special (7) 12111T: Stephen Casey | |||
| Won his last three in a row including a strong win last start over 300m at this track by 1.5 lengths in a NG. Can win again. | |||
