Daily Racing Tips – Tuesday 18th August

Scroll down for our Daily Racing Tips on Tuesday August 18th, including Ballarat Synthetic best bets.

Ballarat Synthetic: Race 2
No. 5 Sumaluv

There’s a case to be made for a few of them here and the Ballarat Synthetic angle makes it particularly interesting given a lot of these are lightly raced or don’t have much exposed form on the surface.

Catonahotinroof has the strongest recent form of the established runners, while SUMALUV comes off a promising second and Platinum Rush also showed improvement last time.

I’ve ultimately put Sumaluv on top — the latest second suggests she’s ready to put it all together, particularly with the benefit of natural improvement.

Ballarat Synthetic: Race 4
No. 8 Saludar

Vagabond Hero brings the strongest overall figures but has to lump 63kg, while Life Sentence and Mr Butt’s Boats have both shown enough recently to be competitive here.

SALUDAR is the key runner acceptor in my opinion after winning at his latest start, with the Grahame Begg/Jordan Childs combination adding appeal.

Saludar gets the nod, with his improving form and latest victory suggesting there is still upside.

Ballarat Synthetic: Race 5
No. 5 Swycho

SWYCHO looks well placed after winning at his latest outing and can continue his progression with another strong performance here, particularly with Jade Smith taking 3kg off his back.

Newcombe has been admirably consistent this preparation and should be around the money again, while Isdell has enough recent form to warrant consideration.

Ultimately, Swycho is the runner I’m siding with and looks well placed to make it two in a row.

Ballarat Synthetic: Race 7
No. 12 Face The Wild

FACE THE WILD returned to the winner’s list with a strong effort last start and can continue that form here.

She draws ideally in barrier seven and gets Harry Coffey aboard again, while Lady In Red and Pull My Finger bring solid recent form into the race.

Face The Wild looks the runner to beat and I’m keen to stick with her today.
