Penrith Panthers vs Wests Tigers Prediction, Tips & Odds

The minor premiership will be on the line as the heavyweight Panthers square off against the bottom-four Tigers.  

FORM: Since losing to the Warriors and Roosters in successive rounds, the Panthers have grafted out wins over the Storm (22-14) and Bulldogs (24-10).  

The Tigers snapped an eight-match losing streak with a stunning 25-24 upset of the Roosters, before going down 24-10 to the Cowboys in Townsville last Saturday.   

INS AND OUTS: Isaah Yeo has been named in the reserves and Mitch Kenny returns at hooker, while Luke Garner starts at centre for the injured Izack Tago.  

Latu Fainu returns to the Tigers’ interchange, Vaka Aho is set to debut off the bench and Sione Fainu comes into the side for Tony Sukkar.  

KEY MATCH-UP: If he isn’t rested in a late change, Nathan Cleary will tune up for the finals opposite Jock Madden.  

HISTORY: The Panthers have won 13 of their last 16 against the Tigers, including the last four in a row. In Round 14 they romped to a 68-0 victory at CommBank.  

KEY STAT: Tom Jenkins has score six tries in three appearances against the Tigers.  

VERDICT: The Panthers have gone against their usual strategy by not giving their stars any late-season rest – and they’ll know exactly what their minor premiership equation is when this one kicks off.  

Last week was a gritty, finals-quality display, though we haven’t seen a blow-the-other-team-off-the-park performance from the title favourites since last time they took on the Tigers.  

The Tigers will be happy to sling their hook for 2026 after a torrid few months. They are $7.75 favourites getting a 19.5-point start – and unlikely to reproduce the heroics that saw them cover and win in a similar spot against the Roosters a fortnight ago.
