We haven’t seen KEEN TO EXCEED (7) at the races since May, and while he failed to break his maiden during his two-start debut preparation, he finished second on both occasions behind the talented Bangkok Hottie and Friendly Fire.
That form has held up, and with the benefit of a nice trial performance under his belt, he can hit the ground running this afternoon.

| Resuming. Finished off last preparation second of 8 at Randwick 2yo Hcp May 23 over 1200m, soft track; a head behind Friendly Fire with 58kg at $2.90. On debut second of 10 at Randwick 2yo Hcp April 25 over 1100m, 2.25 len behind Bangkok Hottie carrying 56.5kg at $17. Has claims if presented on song. | |||
INNER GOLD (3) has shown plenty of ability without yet breaking through for an elusive victory, and he strips fitter today following a tough fresh run that saw him caught wide in transit.
From the low draw, Mark Zahra can find a kinder run in behind the speed before calling on the horse’s turn of foot.

| Second run back. First-up after five months 6th of 8 in a 3yo C&G Mdn-Sw at Sandown-Lakeside on August 19 over 1200m, slow going 4 len behind Somethings Burnin’ carrying 58kg at $12. Previously second-up 7th of 10 in the G2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Flemington on March 7 over 1400m, 6 len behind Grinzinger Heart carrying 57kg at $21. Well placed here, big chance. | |||
FIERCE (12) has been a consistent performer through five starts since debuting, winning three times and only just missing on another occasion, while his first up performance this season suggested he’s only improved.
He strips fitter for that run and has been kept up to the mark with a recent trial.
| 2. Fierce (12) J: Tyler Schiller 60.5kg 142×1T: M, W & J Hawkes | |||
| Half-brother to Group 2 winner Airman. Second-up. First-up after five months favourite; ran on from midfield and won by 2 len in a Bm72 at Warwick Farm on August 19 over 1000m in soft going defeating Spartus carrying 57.5kg at $2.80. Previously second-up got back early ran second last in a small field in a Bm72 at Rosehill on February 25 over 1100m, 2 len behind Banjora with 56.5kg at $3.20. No reason why he cannot keep the ball rolling. | |||
CABRIOLE (9) was almost faultless last time in, winning his first two starts before hitting the line to fill the minors in a strong Saturday metro race.
Having trialled up well ahead of today’s return, he’s been set some stronger targets this season and can use this race as a springboard into something bigger and better.

Previous preparation first-up favourite; to post a big 5.5 len win. Geelong Mdn-Sw April 10 over 1112m slow track defeating Flying Capital with 59kg at $1.45.
