We have Golden Pendant tips and predictions for the Group 2 1400m race at Rosehill on Saturday.
Golden Pendant odds are available, and there are some quality types in action on Golden Rose Day in Sydney.
GANGSTA GRANNY (6) is always close to winning, including running second behind Savvy Hallie last start. She finished ahead of Lazzura, so it’s a good form guide, and punters bet much better odds for the 5YO mare.
Trained by Team Hawkes, she is due for a winning performance after some near misses. She is a popular runner with punters due to her consistency, and there is no reason to jump off her back.
The daughter of Written Tycoon gets into the race with only 55.5kg, so she gets the weight advantage over Lazzura, and her turn-of-foot is often better than most in this race. Therefore, there is good value with the $5.50 odds, and our Golden Pendant predictions have her running another fantastic race on Saturday.

An interesting runner is MODELLA (5), who started her preparation with a listed win at Wyong, and although it came at a provincial circuit, she could have come of age this preparation.
The four-time winner from 14 starts held off Mrs Maree and Just Glamourous, so the form is solid enough to recommend, and getting in with 54kg is enough to swing this race in her favour.
Another positive is having Zac Lloyd riding. He has 13 wins from his last 50 rides, so the young star is enjoying a good start to his season, and he could pick up some big wins on the weekend.
She has been rock-solid in betting markets, which is a good sign for this race, and she could rise to the occasion against a very good stakes field.

If any trainer can pull off a big upset, it’s Chris Waller. He lines up AHHA AHHA (1), who ran at big odds behind Skyhook last start, but there are some things going in her favour for Saturday’s Golden Pendant.
She gets the inside draw with 55kg on her back, and that should allow her to find a more forward position in the run. That could be crucial, and if she gets back in the ruck, her chances of winning are not good.
We expect Jason Collett to ride her positively, and she has a recent Group 1 fourth placing to her name in Brisbane. We’re not overlooking that, so take the value odds with Golden Pendant tips.

Punters get value odds with our Golden Pendant SRM, which includes our three selected runners.
- Top 3 – No. 4 Gangsta Granny
- Top 3 – No. 8 Modella
- Top 5 – No. 5 Ahha Ahha
We have Gangsta Granny Top 3, Modella Top 3, and Ahha Ahha Top 5, which pays $17.50 for our three-runner SRM.
We are confident with Gangsta Granny and Modella running in the Top 3, despite leaving out the race favourite in Lazzura. Ahha Ahha is a sneaky runner, and a Top 5 finish isn’t beyond her.
