It was a huge win from POINT BARROW (13) last time out, and she is good enough to reproduce that effort. She settled back at Caulfield before coming with a big late run, and it was good seeing her back to her best.

She is a Group 1-level mare who has six wins from 11 starts, and she has been a good bet throughout her career. We see no reason to jump off her back, and although her racing pattern isn’t ideal, her turn-of-foot is impressive.

The daughter of Blue Point will get back in the run from barrier 13, but if she gets a cart into the race, she could finish over the top of them again. There is some caution in betting markets, but she’s paying fair odds considering her last win.

Our Northwood Plume Stakes predictions include BRIDAL WALTZ (4), and she is the clear next best pick in this race.

She was only narrowly beaten by Point Barrow last start, and she gets all favours in the run from barrier 4. That could be the winning of the race, and having Luke Nolen riding doesn’t hurt her chances.

We wouldn’t have priced her at $2.80, which is a fraction short, but we’re not surprised to see money come for her. There are only two runners with Northwood Plume Stakes odds at single-figure odds, so it could be a two-horse race.

If Caulfield is favouring on-speed runners, her chances of winning increase significantly, so that’s something to keep an eye on.
