Silver Eagle Tips & Predictions 2026: Best Bets

It won’t be easy for SKYHOOK (5) to come back in distance and win the Silver Eagle, but he’s a quality stallion, and he’s progressing better than most horses in this race.

The 4YO son of Written Tycoon has looked good in winning his last three races, including an easy victory last time out. That didn’t come against the likes of Beiwacht, but with Beiwacht coming off a tough Group 1 performance, Skyhook could have the edge in this race.

He will likely stalk the speed set by the Godolphin runner, and if he’s within a length of him turning for home, he could go straight past him in the straight.

We’re happy with the $3 odds available for the favourite. There is some trepidation in betting markets, but he’s a classy animal, and our Silver Eagle predictions are confidently tipping him to win.

It’s tough to overlook pure racing ability, and BEIWACHT (1) has it in spades.

He didn’t fire in the Manikato Stakes, but he has never been a 1200m horse, and his record when racing further is outstanding. His pet distance is 1400m, but 1300m is suitable, and he’ll take some catching in front if they let him get his own way.

He was brilliant when winning at Group 1 level earlier this preparation, and that solid Group 1 success could put him above the rest of the field. His odds have shortened, as expected, so he should be right in the thick of the finish.

We expect his odds to keep shortening, so he could start as the race favourite on Saturday.

Punters have expected better from APOCALYPTIC (7) in two runs this preparation, but we’re going to give her another chance.

The 4YO mare owns three wins and four placings from nine starts, so she has the form on the board, and although this is a tough Group 1-like field, she’s good enough to soak up the pressure and win the big money.

She should only be fitter with two runs under her belt this prep, and if the two favourites go hammer and tong in front, she could be the runner sweating on the run. If that eventuates, she is good enough to go past them, so our Silver Eagle tips have her figuring in the finish at nice odds.
