NBA Predictions & Daily Player Picks – Thursday, 29th October

Ladbrokes’ Daily NBA Tips & Player Predictions cover the biggest matchups throughout the 2026/27 season, with expert insights, game analysis and betting previews across the key markets.

Toronto Raptors
vs
Orlando Magic
Thursday 29th October 2026 9:30 AM

Kawhi Leonard is expected to miss at least a week with knee swelling—a major setback for Toronto after the Raptors impressed at both ends of the floor before Monday’s heavy loss to Minnesota.

Orlando is also missing key players, with Jalen Suggs out and Paolo Banchero sidelined for at least four weeks with a high ankle sprain.

With so much star power unavailable, this matchup loses some of its appeal. Still, Toronto’s size and length on defense could give the Raptors an edge.

All three of Toronto’s games have stayed Under the total this season. With Scottie Barnes struggling to find his shot, this one could be another low-scoring affair.

PREDICTION: Under 224.5 Total Points @ $1.90

PLAYER PICK

Collin Murray-Boyles could see extra minutes with Leonard out. He logged just over 19 minutes in Monday’s loss to Minnesota, finishing with seven rebounds and two assists.

The points haven’t come yet, but with Orlando also missing important players, his combined rebounds and points line is worth a look.

PREDICTION: Collin Murray-Boyles Over Rebounds + Points Total

Milwaukee Bucks
vs
Houston Rockets
Thursday 29th October 2026 10:00 AM

Houston has been the team to beat early in the season, stringing together four straight wins against the Mavericks, Spurs and Hawks twice.

Alperen Şengün is leading the way with close to 25 points per game, while Amen Thompson has been shooting well from three and averaging nearly nine rebounds a night.

The 8.5-point spread looks generous against a Bucks team that picked up its first win of the season against Indiana on Tuesday, largely thanks to a strong fourth-quarter contribution from the bench.

Milwaukee has shot well from both inside and beyond the arc, but it’s also allowing just over 122 points per game. That could be a problem against a Houston team that’s rolling.

PREDICTION: Rockets to Cover (-8.5 Points) @ $1.90

PLAYER PICK

Fred VanVleet could get plenty of chances from beyond the arc in this one.

The Rockets guard went 0-for-3 from three in Tuesday’s win over Atlanta, but he should find some better looks against a Bucks team that just allowed Tyrese Haliburton to attempt 10 threes.

PREDICTION: Fred VanVleet 3+ Made Threes

Dallas Mavericks
vs
Oklahoma City Thunder
Thursday 29th October 2026 11:30 AM

Dallas is my pick to cover the +6.5 spread against Oklahoma City.

Jalen Williams’ serious injury on Monday was a major blow for the Thunder, who felt his absence last season. Cason Wallace’s unavailability is another concern.

The Mavericks, meanwhile, have looked like genuine Play-In contenders through the opening week. Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg are building a strong connection, and Dallas has quietly ranked among the league’s best teams in field-goal percentage.

PREDICTION: Mavs to Cover (+6.5 Points) @ $1.90

PLAYER PICK

Chet Holmgren’s points line catches my eye in this matchup.

Dallas has been productive offensively, but turnovers remain a concern: the Mavericks are averaging 18.5 per game, among the highest totals in the league.

Holmgren has made the most of second-chance opportunities this season. He also scored 18, 25 and 19 points in three games against Dallas last year.

PREDICTION: Chet Holmgren Over Points Total
