AMELIA’S AFFAIR (6) has led all the way to take out the first on Cup Day, showcasing a solid turn of foot to draw three lengths clear in the Maribyrnong Plate.
Jumping as an $8 chance, the daughter to Home Affairs found the front and never looked back, giving a good kick at the 100m mark under Damian Lane.
Funded settled close to the speed and weakened to finish fourth, while La La Lilly stuck on well for third behind runner-up Royal Press.

YAUSON (13) saluted for favourite backers in the second race on Cup Day, laying down a late challenge to the leader Mr O’Reilly down the straight.
He found top gear at the 100m mark and drew over a length clear, relishing the slow, early tempo after finding a stalking position.
Mr O’Reilly held on for second with Military Academy running on well for third.

Dean Yendall and BILLYCART (10) have crossed the line as the first double-digit winner on Cup Day, storming home to finish over the top of the unlucky Mister Whiskers, who looked the winner inside the final furlong.
The pair enjoyed a lovely cart into the race from well back, largely thanks to Waiheke Rose setting a slow tempo early on.
Star Of Macedon had his chance down the centre of the straight and stuck on well for third.
