The Belmont Guineas is a Listed feature run and won at Belmont Racecourse in WA each June during the Perth winter racing season.
Contested towards the end of the month on the same day as Queensland’s popular Ipswich Cup Day program, the Belmont Guineas offers $125,000 in prize money and runs over a mile.
The 1600m showdown is only open to three-year-old horses and is a set weights event.
The latest edition of the Belmont Guineas ran on Saturday June 22, 2024 and was won by Michael Grantham-trained War Decree filly Luvnwar ($4.40EF), a Group 3 place-getter back in New Zealand, who made it back-to-back wins down under at the Belmont track.
