Ladbrokes Tip: The Sheraco Stakes odds and results impact Golden Pendant betting
Part of The Run To The Rose Stakes Day, which is headlined by the Group 2 Run To The Rose for Golden Rose hopefuls, the Sheraco is a 1200m sprint open to fillies and mares.
First run in 1998 the event is contested at set weights plus penalties and serves as a good lead-up into the Group 2 Golden Pendant. Mizzy (2019) was the last mare to complete the Sheraco Stakes – Golden Pendant race double.
In 2023 the Sheraco Stakes runner-up Espiona went on to win the Golden Pendant next start.
The best mares out of the Sheraco Stakes are also now potential runners in the $2 million The Invitation race, an event the 2021 Sheraco winner Entriviere finished fourth in after a Golden Pendant third, while Espiona ran second in the Sheraco before winning that year’s The Invitation.
The world’s richest turf race – the now $20 million The Everest (1200m) – is also a potential spring option for Sheraco Stakes graduates with the 2022 winner Shades Of Rose finishing eighth in that year’s edition behind Giga Kick.
This season the Sheraco Stakes ran on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Rosehill Gardens and was won by last year’s champion Sunshine In Paris ($3.80) who went back-to-back.

Sheraco Stakes Betting
The Sheraco Stakes betting markets are usually led by horses that ran well at Rosehill the start before in a race like the Toy Show Quality, or first-up performers that have a strong fresh record.
Favourites in the Sheraco Stakes odds have a strong recent record and single-figure fancies have dominated the results over the past decade.
Entriviere ($2.60 in 2021) and Shades Of Rose ($2.45 in 2022) are the latest favourites in Sheraco Stakes betting to win.
Sheraco Stakes Field
The Sheraco Stakes race field attracts a quality line-up of fillies and mares eyeing bigger targets over the coming months including the Group 2 Golden Pendant (1400m) run back at the track. Mizzy (2019) was the last winner of both events in a single season.
Female gallopers in the Sheraco Stakes field may come via a lead-up run in the Group 3 Toy Show Quality (1100m) held earlier in the season. Again Mizzy in 2019 won both races.
In 2020 the Sheraco Stakes winner Haut Brion Her franked the form going on to run second in that season’s Winners Stakes back at Rosehill in November.
2024 Sheraco Stakes Field
The official Sheraco Stakes 2024 field of potential Golden Pendant or even Empire Rose Stakes runners is announced the Wednesday leading-up to the race, the full line-up to be published below.
The 2024 Sheraco Stakes final field features a small but class line-up of potential Group 1 bound runners led by Chris Waller’s Thousand Guineas champion Joliestar who is odds-on to salute second-up off a good victory in the Show County Quality fresh.

- To Win: #3 Joliestar ($1.75 at time of publish) – BET NOW
No value tipping the odds-on elect in the Sheraco but Joliestar is too good to knock and doesn’t look like getting beaten this run or likely the next. Chris Waller’s Zoustar mare is lightly raced and putting together a lovely record having won four from seven to date. She is yet to finish worse than second and comes off a confidence boosting win fresh by a big 2.9 length margin here in the Show County Quality. The Group 1 Thousand Guineas winner last campaign looks to be back in equally good form, and even going up to that testing 58kg weight here, should win.
Sheraco Stakes Form Guide
The Sheraco Stakes form guide features all the must know information for punters like the jockeys, trainers, barriers and lead-up runs of the horses in the field.
The Sheraco Stakes form has stacked up in better spring races a number of times in recent years like in 2019 when the winner Mizzy won the Golden Pendant next start before placing third in both the Silver Eagle and the Golden Eagle, the latter now worth an incredible $10 million in stakes.
