Round 15 of the NRL will see a total of seven matches played and the return of Wednesday night’s State of Origin players to club duties.
Manly are in must-win territory and host the Tigers on Friday night, while a blockbuster between the Storm and Broncos in Melbourne on Sunday undoubtedly highlights the Round.

Manly continues to languish at the bottom of the table following a season of disappointing results, but should enter this Round 15 fixtures with Wests rejuvenated after the bye. Wests were without Robbie Farah and Aaron Woods last week but undoubtedly produced a season-best performance to see off reigning premiers Souths 34-6. Manly welcome back Cherry-Evans from Origin and have undoubtedly entered must-win territory if they are any hope of making the finals. For that reason, we’re confident the Sea Eagles will return to winning form on Friday night.

Canberra Raiders vs North Queensland Cowboys

The Cowboys have stamped themselves as serious premiership contender this season and are currently amidst a club record 10 game winning streak. Blake Austin has been the signing of the season and adds several dimensions to the Raiders attack, while the likes of Jarrod Croker, Sisa Waqa and Jack Wighton provide firm support. The Cowboys are set to welcome back Johnathan Thurston, Matt Scott, James Tamou and Matt Morgan from Origin and offer sensational value for money as $2 outsider.

Gold Coast Titans vs New Zealand Warriors

The Gold Coast have done enough to remain eighth overall after 14 rounds of the NRL without really causing much fuss to the league’s leading teams. Having produced a solid effort to beat the Bulldogs at home last weekend, the Titans will undoubtedly have to step up a gear if to post a similar result against what is set to be a near-full strength Warriors outfit on Saturday afternoon. Despite boasting a talented team on paper, the Warriors have again been unable to post anything of a consistent run of form this campaign, but have displayed patches of brilliance here and there. We think the Warriors offer great value at $1.80 but the Titans are also worth consideration at even $2 odds.

Canterbury Bulldogs vs Penrith Panthers

The Bulldogs are one of the most greatly-affected clubs through the Origin period and will be thrilled to welcome back Trent Hodkinson, the Morris twins, Josh Jackson and David Klemmer after suffering a close and disappointing defeat last weekend. The Panthers have not been able to reach the same impressive form which saw them eliminated in the semi-finals last season but have still managed enough form to stay in close touch with the top 8. The Dogs deserve to be clear favourites in this tie and should have no issue chalking up another win.

Newcastle Knights vs Cronulla Sharks

The Knights began the season in impeccable fashion in winning five from five, but have been nothing short of awful since and have fallen to 14th overall. The Sharks have posted some good results in between several heavy losses but will be full of confidence leading into their match at Hunter Stadium after seeing off a full-strength Roosters outfit in their most recent fixture. The Knights should not be considered favourites in current form but the Sharks inconsistency also means they are no safe bet.

Melbourne Storm vs Brisbane Broncos

In what undoubtedly figures as the standout fixture in Round 15 of the NRL, the Melbourne Storm host the Broncos on Sunday afternoon in what is sure to be a bitter affair. Slater, Smith, Chambers return for the Storm while Parker, Gillett, McGuire, Boyd, Hodges and Thaiday return to the Broncos line-up. Queensland lost State of Origin Game 2 on Wednesday night, and each of these players will be hoping to respond with a big game for club this weekend, adding extra spice to this match. Melbourne at home is a tough task for any team and we believe the Broncos are due a loss.

St George Illawarra Dragons vs Sydney Roosters
Monday, June 22nd – 7:00pm AEST – Allianz Stadium
The third-placed Dragons host the fifth-placed Roosters in a blockbuster at Allianz Stadium to conclude Round 15 on Monday night. Little was expected of the Dragons this season but the halves pairing of Benji Marshall and Gareth Widdop as really gelled, particularly with Blues star Josh Dugan roaming behind the line. The Roosters are yet to hit top gear this season but there is a sense they are close to turning it on before a charge to the finals, and they cannot be written off against anyone. Depending on which Origin players back up for both teams, we’re taking the Roosters to take a step closer to the top four on Monday.
