The NRL is well aware how popular the Thursday night games are and the AFL is now cashing in, plus it makes it feel like the weekend has come early.

- $5k on Adelaide (head to head) at $1.35
- $5k on North Melbourne +25.5 line @ $1.92
HOPPING MAD TO BACK TO CROWS
North Melbourne come in off another six day break against an Adelaide side at home, in form and freshened from a week off and they are three very important factors according to the Ladbrokes punters who’ve already placed their bets.
The Crows have been $1.40 into $1.26, remarkably short given they’re playing a team who, until a week ago, were top of the ladder.
The Kangaroos were terrific last week despite losing to Hawthorn and get some crucial gut runners back tonight. They’ve drifted from an opening quote of $2.95 out to $4 and drifted could be the operative word given the weather situation in the city of churches. Whoever prayed for rain has been listened to on loud speaker.
The big wet makes line betting an interesting proposition with the opening mark of 18.5 ballooning to 29.5 before punters realised just how open the heavens were.
It’s corrected somewhat now and, despite very little support for the Kangaroos, is back to 25.5. One punter very happy with that mark, so much so he’s had a lazy $5k on it.
While it certainly wasn’t me, I tend to agree. The Kangaroos are over the odds and with the weather set to play a role, I think the visitors at the plus is a decent bet.
