- Ladbrokes’ I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! betting markets change after Kris Smith and Keira Maguire are evicted
- Comedian Nazeem Hussain firms into single-figure odds
There has been plenty of movement in I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! betting markets at Ladbrokes after leading contender Kris Smith was sensationally sent packing from the South African jungle.
Smith was prominent in betting for the popular reality series after making his entrance on Day 2 of the competition, but did drift a little in recent weeks as the likes of Casey Donovan (currently $3.50) and the appropriately named Steve Price (currently ($4.50) began to firm.
It is comedian Nazeem Hussain who has experienced the biggest turn in prominence to win season 3 of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! since, as the one-time $19 shot is now the sole occupant of the fourth line of betting at a solid $7 quote.
Ladbrokes bookmaker Tony Wilmot said that Smith’s exit means that there is only four contestants remaining that are shaping as possible winners.
“At one point, Kris Smith was fighting for market favouritism with Dane Swan, so it is a real shock to see the ex-footy player as the competition’s fourth evictee,” said Wilmot.
“His popularity with his camp mates appeared as though it was reflected in the public’s perspective and we really thought that he would find his way into the final three.
“Keira Maguire was also voted out of the jungle, however she had drifted onto the bottom line of betting and has subsequently caused no ripples whatsoever in our market.”
Natalie Bassingthwaighte is arguably the value in the I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! betting markets at a $15 quote, while Carson Kressley ($17), Ash Pollard ($19), Tegan Martin ($21) and Lisa Curry ($26) round out the now nine-contestant market.
