The market suggests that there is not a great deal between these players ahead of their clash at the Sydney International, but on hardcourts Adrian Mannarino has a clear statistical edge over Fabio Fognini on both serve and return. He is not the most consistent player on the ATP Tour, but he does represent value at his current price.
Gilles Muller is the defending champion at the Sydney International, but he faces a tough challenge against Benoit Paire. Muller has looked a touch out of sorts since he arrived in Australia and Paire will put plenty of pressure on Muller’s serve. There is nothing between then and Paire is value at $2.10.
Backing the Perth Scorchers at the Big Bash continues to be a profitable betting play and there is no reason to jump off them in this clash against the Sydney Thunder. The Scorchers bowling line-up can run through the Thunder top-order and they should really be clear favourites in this contest.
