NRL Round 19 Betting Review

PUNTER’S PAL

Penrith might not have lost for almost two months going into round 19 but punters saw it coming and stepped into the Raiders as their best bet of the round.

The Raiders first win at Panthers’ Stadium for four seasons capped off a big 24 hours for punters, who also cleaned up on the Broncos travelling south to CBUS Super Stadium and covering what many rightly deemed a too skinny line.

BOOKIE’S BEST

The line on the Roosters versus Bulldogs game was big. 15.5 points to be precise.

Still, punters were more than happy to take the tri-colours at the minus and it was a move which they would regret as the Bulldogs forced the reigning premiers to scrap out an eight-point victory.

The Tigers inflicting Newcastle’s fourth consecutive loss was also a good result for the bookies but it’s doubtful punters will be rushing into the Knights from here on this season.

FIRST TRY FILL-UP

Week in week out they are two of the best backed in first try scorer markets and when both Corey Oates and James Tedesco cross first in their respective matches, it’s a good weekend for punters.

Ken Maumalo and Dane Gagai also scoring the opening try in their respective games proved a boon for punters.

MULTI MAGIC

Keeping it relatively simple with just the three legs and just scraping home with the final result, our multi punters of the week turned $1000 into $20300.

Combining Parramatta 1-12/Broncos 13+ and Raiders 1-12 at odds of $20.30, he’d have been a nervous man late Sunday and thankfully for him, the Green Machine slowed enough to keep it at a 12-point margin against the Panthers.

BACKING THE FUTURE

The Roosters remained an outright premiership favourite but did ease slightly on the back of a scrappy win over the Bulldogs whilst the Storm also drifted after losing their first match in more than two months. Manly, the team which conquered Melbourne in golden point, moved into the fifth line of betting after starting the season at the equal longest price ($41) alongside the Bulldogs and Titans.
