Eagle Farm Preview – Saturday 3rd October

QTIS 2yo Plate (1000m)

A full field of two year old first starters and the betting will be the best guide.

Princess Bojack scored a 3 lengths win in a 870m Toowoomba Barrier trial and appears to be one of the main chances.

The Kelly Schweida trained Headlander won an 800m Doomben barrier trial in preparation for his debut and follow any market moves.

The Les Ross trained pair of Mishani Untamed and Mishani Trouble are certain to be well educated and ready for a bold performance on debut.

BenchMark 78 Handicap (2400m)

Stardome battled on for second last start at the Gold Coast in a 2200m BenchMark 75 Handicap and can be thereabouts again.

He Runs Away was runner up two starts back in a 2200m Eagle Farm BenchMark 78 Handicap before finishing fifth in a 2200 Gold Coast BenchMark 78 Handicap.

Blacklog finished fourth in the same race and Fields Of Yulong is coming off a last start third in a 2200m Sunshine Coast BenchMark 60 Handicap.

QTIS 3yo Handicap (1400m)

Mass Destruction broke through for his maiden win two starts back at the Sunshine Coast and then finished second in a 1200m at the Handicap Gold Coast Metro meeting two weeks ago and is facing similar opposition here.

Neutron ran a nice race first up when second in a 1350m Doomben 3yo  and will get a good run from the inside gate.

Safework broke through for her initial win in a 1350m Doomben 3yo Handicap three weeks ago and Moonan Me is stepping up to Saturday grade following his win in a 1400m Eagle Farm Mid-week 3yo Benchmark 70 Handicap.

Race 4 - 1:43pm

Class 3 Handicap (1600m)

Prospectus has been ultra-consistent with a win and three placings from his last four start, his latest a second in an 1800m Gold Coast Benchmark 75 Handicap. One of the main chances here.

Fort Wayne scored his Maiden win three starts over 1500m at Sandown in March before a spell. His latest effort produced a win in a 1400m Sunshine Coast BenchMark 68 Handicap and looks suited here.

Scottish Mist is racing in outstanding form with wins at her last four starts, including a last start win in a 1400m Class 2 at Eagle Farm and Montez has earned a trip to town following his win in a 1350m Ipswich Class 3.

Race 5 - 2:18pm

QTIS 3yo Handicap (1000m)

Superare is fitter for one run back from a break on when third to Mountbatten in a 1000m  Eagle Farm BenchMark 75 Handicap, and will get all of the favours from the inside gate.

Better Than Best is the winner of two of her last three starts and gets her chance again following a win in a 1200m Gold Coast 3yo.

Moriconi break through for her Maiden win two starts back and then finished third in a 1200m Gold Coast 3yo BenchMark 62 Handicap and look for further improvement and Mishani Miss who hardly ever runs a bad race with two wins from her last four starts.

Race 6 - 2:57pm

Open Handicap (1000m)

Pizonie is chasing a hat trick after two wins over the same course and distance as this week’s assignment and will be hard to beat with only 52.5kg on her back.

Usmanov and Spurcraft finished second and third in a 900m Gold Coast Handicap and both excel over the short sprint distances.

Capital Connection is resuming following a long break and has won first up in the past and is a two times winner over this course and distance.

NMW Handicap (1200m)

Royal Hale was a winner two starts back in a 1200m Sunshine Coast BenchMark 70 Handicap and then finished fifth as favourite in a 1200m Doomben BenchMark 75 Handicap on September 5. Gets his chance to make amends.

Juji Flyer has been placed at his last two starts, his latest a third in a 1200m NMW Handicap at the Gold Coast and can figure in the mix again.

Lady Brahmos has two wins and two placings from her last four starts, her latest a win in a 1200m Sunshine Coast Class 2 Plate and Starvirgo is not the worst coming off a win in a 1200m Sunshine Coast Class 4.

Race 8 - 4:17pm

Open Handicap (1400m)

Phantom Falcon was a winner two starts back over this course and distance and then scored an all the way win in a 1350m Doomben Class 6. Might be hard to run down if he gets his own way in front again.

Snitch will be fitter for recent racing, including a seventh in 1200m Weetwood Handicap at Toowoomba last Saturday and can do better.

Desert Lord resumed from a spell for a first up win in a 1200m Eagle Farm Class 6 Plate and another bold performance can be expected and The Harrovian is the winner of his last seven starts in North Queensland and can’t be taken lightly.

Race 9 - 4:57pm

BenchMark 80 Handicap (1800m)

Kedah is racing well at eagle Farm with a win two starts back in a 1400m BenchMark 75 followed by a second in a 1600m BenchMark 78 Handicap and will get all the favours from the inside gate.

Seeingisbelieving beat Kedah home by a nose last start but meets him slightly worse at the weights but is certain to make his presence felt again.

Lord Gododdin has been placed at his last two starts at Eagle Farm over 2218m and at the Gold Coast over 2200m and can’t be left of calculations and Momentum To Win was winner over this course and distances three starts back.
