This is a terrific edition of the Queen Anne Stakes and a great way to start the Royal Ascot meeting.
Modern Games is one of the best horses in the world and he can confirm that status with a victory in the Queen Anne Stakes.
He won the Breeders Cup Mile last year and he backed that performance up with a win in the Lockinge Stakes.
Asadna is the horse to beat in the Coventry Stakes.
He won by an incredible 12 lengths on debut at Ripon and ran serious time in doing so.
This is a much harder race, but he has an enormous amount of upside.
I am taking on the Aussies in this year’s edition of the King’s Stand Stakes.
Highfield Princess has been building towards a feature race win and this looks like an ideal contest for her.
Her victory in the Nunthorpe Stakes last year was excellent and she heads into this contest on the back of a tough second place finish in the Duke Of York Stakes.
Chaldean is clearly the horse to beat in the St James’s Palace Stakes and he is deserving of his status as a narrow favourite.
He returned to his best form with a classy win in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and that is always the strongest form line for the St James’s Palace Stakes.
Paddington is the obvious danger, but Chaldean has the runs on the board and on exposed form has a genuine edge over his rival.
