Remus sets his sights on becoming a Southern Star

Star chaser, Zipping Remus, is ready to return to the track after his scintillating Group 1 victory in the Ladbrokes Vic Peters at Wentworth Park earlier this month. Remus pulled up incredibly well from his last outing and is now ready to qualify for another feature final!

He heads down the highway to Goulburn for a heat of the Ladbrokes Southern Stars this Friday, July 21 and has fortunately drawn pole position again, a box he remains unbeaten from. Remus is set to take on former star NZ chaser, Big Daddy, and the highly rated Victorian, Fire Hose, in what looks to be a terrific clash. The series takes place at Goulburn, Temora, and Wagga, with all heat winners qualifying for the final at Goulburn on July 28.

Remus will without doubt be the Ladbrokes Racing Club’s flag-bearer for the week ahead, but he’s certainly not alone. His kennelmate, Zipping Rousey, heads to Wentworth Park on Saturday night and will be joined by fellow LRC representative, Zipping Osti, who is now second-up from a break and ready to fire.

    Kanazawa continues to thrive

Kanazawa has returned to the Eagle Farm stables of Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted after enjoying a week at Kolora Lodge. He was able to spend a week out in the paddock, but also maintained his fitness levels by doing some light work and spending some time on the water walker. This is the perfect freshen up method after a first-up run and he is looking bright and well upon his return.

He will now return to work on the training tracks in preparation for his second-up run which is set to be next Saturday, July 29 at Eagle Farm. He is likely to run over 1300m in a Class 3 Plate at Set Weights conditions, which is very suitable for him considering his three victories have come at metropolitan standard in Sydney.

Everly set to debut in Adelaide

Our lone South Australian representative, Everly, is set to make her debut this Saturday at Morphettville over 1000m in a Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate. She is somewhat of a recent acquisition to the Ladbrokes Racing Club, in conjunction with Rosemont Stud, and has pleased us at every step along the way.

She is heading to the races to make her debut off the back of a smart trial victory at Murray Bridge last week. She began cleanly from the gates and showed excellent early pace to settle in a prominent position, where she travelled sweetly throughout and went to the line under minimal pressure. She pulled up well from the hit out and has subsequently pleased the stable, which has prompted them to accept with her to race this Saturday.

She is set to contest Race 2 on the card, which is due to commence at 12:22pm AEST. She has drawn off the track in barrier twelve in a field of thirteen, with one emergency declared also. She will have the services of Ben Price, who rode her in the recent trial and has also been aboard her several times in trackwork throughout the preparation, so it’s fantastic to reward his hard work with the ride on game day. We can’t wait to have our first runner in South Australia!
