Eight races will be run and won under lights this Friday night at Moonee Valley.
The track is currently rated a good 4 and the rail will remain in the true position.
We’ve had a close look at all events on the card and our thoughts can be found below.
Kaluakoi comes off a strong win over this course and distance and looks well placed to repeat that performance.
Taken straight to the front, she travelled beautifully throughout and when asked for an effort showed a good kick to pull away and score by just under two lengths.
The daughter of Zoustar has really come of age this time in and certainly relished stepping out over this journey last start.
Blake Shinn stays aboard with the advantage of the inside draw, she looks the one to beat.
1 unit – KALUAKOI
King Czar returns to the races and been gelded since we last saw him on raceday.
A son of Russian Revolution, the three year old has just had the three starts and whilst he has shown good ability, he was just doing too much wrong.
He lines up here off three recent jump outs, all over the 800m at Flemington, and his latest was particularly impressive.
The 1200m kick off looks ideal and gate two should see him afforded every chance.
1 unit – KING CZAR
Roaring Engine was terrific over the 2400m at Caulfield two runs back but failed to fire last start when lining up at Rosehill for the first time.
Rider Tim Clark eased him down stating that he was concerned something was amiss but a post race vet exam failed to reveal an issue so he just may not have handled the clockwise way of racing.
A narrow runner up in his only appearance here at the Valley, I’m happy to stick with him and he has been placed in both starts over this trip.
Blake Shinn knows how to get the best out of him and he’ll do the steering for Danny O’Brien.
1 unit – ROARING ENGINE
Zambezi Khan just held her ground to the line when resuming over 1350m at Donald but she will have taken plenty of improvement from the outing.
The daughter of Mongolian Khan kicked off her career in New Zealand before making her way to Australia and has continued to improve as she’s stepped out over more ground.
Stakes placed, having finished the runner up in the Group 3 SA Fillies Classic last campaign, she boasts solid form around her and looks very progressive.
She has won over this trip previously, gets in beautifully with the 3kg claim for Tom Prebble and is set to enjoy a cosy run throughout off the inside draw.
1 unit – ZAMBEZI KHAN
Keane Enuff has been racing well and comes off a very tidy effort over this track and trip.
Settling back in the field he tracked the well-supported Grand Larceny through and hit the line strongly to finish second.
The Rich Enuff gelding has been placed in all three starts over the 955m here and looks well placed to get the job done.
Luke Nolen has been aboard at his past two outings, he stays in the saddle and with luck of the wide gate, will be right in this.
1 unit – KEANE ENUFF
Proved made a perfect start to her racing career with a decisive victory over 1200m at Moe.
Pressed forward to take up the running, the Time Test mare travelled well and when given a squeeze at the top of the straight she kicked away to put up a two length margin on the runner up, with a further 4.5 lengths back to the rest.
She looks very smart and with natural improvement she looks the one to beat.
2 units – PROVED
Presser has been the runner up at his past three appearances and is sure to appreciate the drop back in grade.
Now under the care of Gavin Bedggood, the son of Press Statement tried hard over the mile at Moe two runs back but just couldn’t quite reel in Nation’s Call in BM78 grade.
He then made the trip to Morphettville on Derby Day where he hit the front at the top of the straight but was just run down late.
He comes here in peak order, he’s got a great record over the mile and gets in nicely with the 3kg claim for Ryan Houston.
2 units – PRESSER
Autumn Storm is racing well and comes off a solid effort to finish second over this track and distance.
Lightly raced, having just the six starts, the son of The Autumn Sun made it successive wins, going straight from a maiden to a BM70.
He had no luck at all when stepping out at Flemington on Oaks Day where he was badly held up for the majority of the straight.
He’s the horse on the rise and presents here hard fit.
Blake Shinn partnered him on debut back in April and he goes back aboard for the Griffiths / de Kock team.
