The Queensland Summer Racing Carnival moves to the Sunshine Coast this Saturday with the running of the 2025 Magic Millions Gold meeting.

The Gold Coast Turf Club were to host the meeting but due to unforeseen track circumstances it was forced to be moved.

The traditional lead up meeting to Magic Millions has been supercharged with $6.05 million on offer across a 10-race program that features the new $3 million Sunlight slot race for three-year-olds, $1 million The Syndicate and $500,000 The Wave.

The two-year-olds will also be looking to lock their place in next week’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic with wins in the Gold Nugget and Gold Pearl.

We’ve studied the form and provided our top selections for each race below.

Race 1 - 3:05PM AEDT

GOLD NUGGET QTIS 2YO Colts and Geldings (1100 METRES)

Torque To Be Sure (2) was very good in The Debut last start when finishing a head second to Vein Girl.

Despite being restrained from the wide gate and wanting to pull badly, the Matt Dunn-trained Shamus Award colt produced the quickest final 600m of the race.

He’ll be better for the experience and the rise in distance suits.

Dunn has booked his go to man Nash Rawiller who will allow his mount to settle closer in the run.

1 Unit – Torque To Be Sure (2)

Race 2 - 3:45PM AEDT

GOLD PEARL QTIS 2YO Fillies (1100 METRES)

Rainbow Glow (4) raced like a jump and run two-year-old on debut at Canberra and that is always an excellent formula for the babies.

The Bjorn Baker-trained daughter of Snitzel pinged the lids like a greyhound to take up the running and was never headed to win by a neck.

She tired late but that run will have done her the world of good with her fitness and experience.

From barrier 3, Jason Collett can jump straight to the front and give them something to catch.

1 Unit – Rainbow Glow (4)

Race 3 - 4:25PM AEDT

MAGIC MILLIONS MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES)

Hell To Pay (8) looks well placed in the $250k Maiden after finishing third in all four of his races.

The O’Shea & Charlton-trained gelding has settled back at Canterbury in both his starts this preparation before flashing home to finish third to handy types Gerringong and Tuileries.

That racing style is rarely suitable for the on pace favoured Canterbury so there was plenty of merit in the runs and given the way he ran through the line, the rise to 1400m looks ideal.

There doesn’t look a great deal of speed in the race which could see Craig Williams settle closer in the run.

1 Unit – Hell To Play (8)

Race 4 - 5:05PM AEDT

RISING STARS 3YO & 4YO Fillies & Mares Class 4 Plate (1300 METRES)

Wooloowin (2) found the line strongly to win first-up over 1150m at Kensington.

The Nathan Doyle-trained mare then found the line strongly when finishing two lengths third over 1200m at Kembla Grange and defeating Infatuation easily in the process.

Last start she was held up but worked strongly to the line once clear to finish 2.3 lengths fifth in a stronger Randwick race.

She’s at peak fitness now and will appreciate the rise in distance.

1 Unit – Wooloowin (2)

Race 5 - 5:45PM AEDT

RISING STARS 3YO & 4YO Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 4 Plate (1300 METRES)

Moravia (9) is thrown in under the set weight conditions of the race and looks hard to beat.

The Michael Freedman-trained gelding was very good last start in the Listed Razor Sharp Handicap where he was held up in the straight and raced in restricted room but still finished just under a length fourth.

He was five weeks between runs so will tighten up nicely for this and he had prior good form in stronger races.

Blake Shinn can give him the run of the race from barrier 2.

2 Units – Moravia (9)

Race 6 - 6:25PM AEDT

Class 6 Plate (1200 METRES)

Hatchet (1) resumes here on the back of a nice 1.5 length trial win where he cruised around in front.

The Rob Heathcote-trained six-year-old races well fresh having won twice and placed three times from six first-up races.

Last preparation she finished third in the G3 W.J. Healy Stakes so he’s well placed under the set weight conditions of the race.

Vlad Duric can settle just off what looks like a decent speed from the inside barrier.

1 Unit Each Way – Hatchet (1)

Race 7 - 7:05PM AEDT

THE WAVE (1800 METRES)

Gold Bullion (4) battled with 62kg when resuming on the Kensington track when finishing third.

The Waterhouse & Bott-trained son of Savabeel has a history of improving significantly second-up and that was certainly the case last start in the Listed Members Mile at Eagle Farm when rising to the occasion every time he was challenged in front to win narrowly.

He looks back in the form that saw him finish a nose second in the G3 Frank Packer Plate

Regan Bayliss can use his early speed to cross and find a prominent position.

1 Unit – Gold Bullion (4)

Race 8 - 7:40PM AEDT

THE SYNDICATE (1100 METRES)

Golden Boom (2) didn’t appreciate the heavy going at the Sunshine Coast but bounced back in a big way last start in The Bribie.

The Tony Gollan-trained gelding raced three-wide the trip yet still proved too strong in the run home to nose out stablemate Zarastro.

He’ll strip fitter third-up and has been back to the trials where he turned in a very speedy piece of work.

Blake Shinn goes on and can either lead or settle handy which should see him hard to beat.

2 Units – Golden Boom (2)

Race 9 - 8:15PM AEDT

SUNLIGHT 3YO Plate (1100 METRES)

Lady Of Camelot (6) brings A1 form to the inaugural running of the Sunlight slot race and can win $1.2 million for connections.

The Waterhouse & Bott-trained filly resumes here following an excellent last preparation that saw her finish third in the G1 Moir Stakes, fourth in The Everest and third in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes

She looked super in a recent trial win and has won at black-type level when previously first-up.

There looks to be plenty of speed in the race which should see Blake Shinn play a stalking role.

2 Units – Lady Of Camelot (6)

Race 10 - 8:50PM AEDT

SUNLIGHT CONSOLATION (1100 METRES)

Hezdarnhottoo (1) demonstrated an abundance of speed in his first campaign but a gelding operation ahead of his second preparation allowed him to harness it.

The Bjorn Baker-trained son of Too Darn Hot returns to the races for the first time since winning over 1100m on Wyong Gold Cup Day in September.

He has looked good in two trials leading into this where he has raced on speed and finished second on both occasions to quality older mare Roots and Head Of The Herd.

Tommy Berry has a good record on him and will likely settle in a prominent position.

1 Unit – Hezdarnhottoo (1)
