2025 Dutch Grand Prix Preview

2025 Dutch Grand Prix Preview

It’s time for the ten-race sprint to the finish line in the 2025 F1 World Championship and it kicks off with this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix by the sea in Zandvoort.

The summer break was relatively calm save for Cadillac announcing their 2026 driver line up but the action should heat up as the ten teams return to the track.

McLaren is running away with the 2025 F1 Constructors’ Championship with more than double the points of second placed Ferrari, but the drivers title shapes up as a great battle between Australia and England.

Aussie Oscar Piastri enters this weekend with a nine point lead over Brit Lando Norris, and they have posted a papaya one-two in five of the last six races.

Find out who we are backing this weekend in our Dutch F1 Grand Prix Preview.

Race Winner

Time to toss that coin once again, which McLaren driver is the play to win the race this weekend?

Oscar Piastri is the slight favourite in this market but given the form of each driver prior to the break that seems like it has a bit of an Aussie bias in the market.

Norris won three of the last four races ahead of Piastri with the two swapping spots in Spa.

Not to mention Norris winning the race here last year and his case looks like the stronger one this weekend.

Even if it is going to be an incredibly tight race to the finish line and the forecast showers on race day should keep the field much more tightly condensed.

Lando Norris @ $2.60

Winning Margin 0-5.999 Seconds @ $1.73

Podium Finish

In his home grand prix, Dutchman Max Verstappen has been unmatched on the Zandvoort circuit.

In the four stagings of this race since it was reintroduced, Verstappen has won in 2021, 2022 and 2023 plus a second place finish last year.

However he may be in for a rough afternoon having failed to finish on the podium in each of his last four races and the Red Bull is really struggling to keep up with the field no matter how well he drives it.

For some value in this market both Charles Leclerc and George Russell look to be decent bets at over even money.

Leclerc is due for another podium after alternating between third and off the podium over the last six races and might be the better play over the Mercedes.

Charles Leclerc Podium Finish @ $2.75

Points Finish

Here is the market to throw a few darts at the board and hope for the best with the rain potentially giving some of the outsider drivers a shot to roll the dice with their pit stops and try to pick up some points.

Gabriel Bortoleto and Liam Lawson are starting to find their feet in F1, with both registering three top ten finishes from his last four races and they look well placed to strike at the Dutch Grand Prix.

Lawson to his credit has managed to put his disastrous start to the season behind him and looks to be the best value in this market with a sixth in Austria and consecutive eighth place finishes in Belgium and Hungary.

The experienced heads in the field will also know how to drive in less than ideal conditions with Carlos Sainz ready to bounce back after a rough midseason stretch of races.

Gabriel Bortoleto Points Finish @ $2.25

Liam Lawson Points Finish @ $2.50

Carlos Sainz Points Finish @ $3.25

Red Bull Double Points Finish @ $4.25

Sauber Double Points Finish @ $5.00

Number of Classified Finishers

It would take a minor miracle for all of the drivers to finish the race like they did at this circuit last year.

2023 saw 17 drivers finish another rain impacted race, 18 were classified in 2022 and 2021 so we are probably going to see some non-finishers.

There have been more races with a quarter of the field retiring than in recent years and this looks like another one with the rain likely to be heavy enough to cause some issues but not enough to suspend the racing.
