Darren ‘Dashman’ Clayton previews Saturday’s Albion Park harness meeting, delivering his trademark deep-dive into the form with sharp analysis and punter-focused insight.
A few chances in the opener where the right map can present for COSMIC FLYER (1) to take his shot. A winner at Redcliffe tow starts back when powering home late, his effort from the second line was solid behind MY ULTIMATE FLYNN last time out. Effective late, he can descend on them.
MY ULTIMATE FLYNN (6) has been in super form since returning from a spell, and last start made the most of gate 1 to take them all the way over this trip. Highlighted with a 26.7 close out, it was reward following four successive 2nd placings. Despite the wide gate, he can challenge.
XPRESS PARTY (2) has placed in three of his past four starts, the latest when finishing 2m astern of the winner FERNCO NEL. With early hustle, if he can find the poles, he can feature.
CHARGE AHEAD (4) was used off the gate last start from the inside before relenting and finishing behind the placings as SWEET ON LEXY dominated. He can be thereabouts.
SELECTIONS: COSMIC FLYER (1), MY ULTIMATE FLYNN (6), XPRESS PARTY (2), CHARGE AHEAD (4)
SUGGESTED BET: COSMIC FLYER (1) to win

| Last start 4th (Sr2) over 2138m at this track beaten 7 m by My Ultimate Flynn (2:36.20) in 4yo+ on June 6 at $12. Two runs back won by 6 m as favourite when driven back in the field, (Fr4) held up early, at Redcliffe (2:09.90) beating Zac Daniels in 3yo+ on May 31 at $2.15. Nicely drawn and can make an impact from there. | |||
Chasing a hat-trick of victories after winning at 2138 and the mile, SWEET ON LEXY (4) may need to do it the tough way again here. Sitting parked at the mile last start, he put the leader away before the 400 and pulled clear for 1.50.5 PB. Huge the start prior at the middle trip, the threepeat is on.
MINOS (3) was game in defeat last start over the Menangle Mile when sent forward and with a sub-26 opening panel, was then forced to sit parked. Finishing 3m astern of the winner, he has been back to the trials with a smart performance and will throw down the challenge here.
BIRKIRKARA (9) has placed in three of four since resuming, the latest when looming but finishing a half-neck short of the prize. Trailing through early, he will be attempting a late raid.
TINDER SURPRISE (2) has early speed and from this gate will be trying to settle in a forward position. Dictating from the front over this trip two starts back, he faded when parked last time as FERNCO NEL asserted dominance.
SELECTIONS: SWEET ON LEXY (4), MINOS (3), BIRKIRKARA (9), TINDER SURPRISE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SWEET ON LEXY (4) to win

| Four-year-old gelding is racing in fine form. Won his last two outings at this track. Last start won by 15 m as favourite after showing early speed, (Fr5) at this track (1:53.90) beating Mossdale Terry in 4yo+ on June 6 at $1.15. Has been impressive of late and has strong claims again. | |||
With the benefit of one run back from a spell, FINAL DEADLINE (2) wins big with the barrier draw advantage over the main players in this contest. Returning with an impressive stand start victory off 10m, he closed out last prep with an agonizingly close 2nd behind HI MANAMEISJEFF. With early speed, he can control this.
JUNGLE DRAGON (5) held on for the silver at his first standing start assignment as FINAL DEADLINE proved too classy. Back to the mobile mile last start, he forced the issue and pulled clear with a 13m margin in a smart last 800. Despite an awkward gate, he can look to challenge.
FATE AWAITS (8) was chasing a hat-trick to remain unbeaten as a 4YO when sent out deep into the red last start. Forced to park and fading to 3rd as SALLY BIGTIME dictated, he will be searching for gaps here.
COOL AND CLASSY (7) is afforded no favours from this gate as she returns from a tilt at the QEII Mile that faltered when 7m from EYE KEEP SMILING in the qualifier. She can feature fresh.
SELECTIONS: FINAL DEADLINE (2), JUNGLE DRAGON (5), FATE AWAITS (8), COOL AND CLASSY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: FINAL DEADLINE (2) to win

| Resumed from a 73-day break with a strong win by 8 m as favourite (10m Fr1) at this track (2:32.60) beating Jungle Dragon in 4yo+ on May 26 at $1.50. Draws well so can make it back-to-back wins. | |||
First up for the new barn two starts back over the Menangle Mile, BETTORLIGHTEMUP (1) charged across from gate 7 to dictate and pull clear to a big win. Showing speed again second up from a wide gate, he was collared late in holding 3rd. With mapping favours, he can prevail.
SMARTER THAN YOU (3) eased from gate 5 last time out at the mile and with the power over the last 800, was facing too big a task to make ground as JUNGLE DRAGON scored. Making a late play following a fence trip the start prior behind JUST DRAGON, he can challenge late here.
BORELLA (2) will strip fitter following a last start 3rd where he was first up in 10 months. Eased from gate 7, he was strong to the line when under 5m from the winner and can feature here.
MYNAMESEVAN (6) is afforded no favours from this gate but has faced tough draws recently. A winner from outside the second line at Redcliffe two back, he a half-neck away last start and can chime in here.
SELECTIONS: BETTORLIGHTEMUP (1), SMARTER THAN YOU (3), BORELLA (2), MYNAMESEVAN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTORLIGHTEMUP (1) to win

| Beaten favourite last start when third at Menangle on June 2. Was victorious the start before at Menangle on May 19. Should get every chance from the inside draw. | |||
Taking benefit from her last start when resuming from a spell, THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (4) showed early hustle before taking cover. Best of the chasing pack behind SWET MIA, last run of her last prep was in a strong Menangle mare’s event taken by TOKYO ROSE. This is within reach.
TREMENDOUS SENSATION (10) started from gate 1 last start and after being crossed early was out for the retake. Leading into the stretch, she could not fend off the challenge of the airborne SALLY BIGTIME in a sub-27 close out. With the right front-line tempo, she can challenge late.
BELLA DANZA (5) has had just three starts since arriving in Qld and will be fresh here following a midfield return last start behind DAISY DIANA. Charging home the start prior when a head from LUX AETERNA, she can chime in here.
LUVARESCHS (6) made the most of conditions in a lesser grade here last week and took them all the way with 4m to spare. The wider gate and rise in grade make it a tougher task this week.
SELECTIONS: THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (4), TREMENDOUS SENSATION (10), BELLA DANZA (5), LUVARESCHS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (4) to win

| Having her second run back from a spell. Game effort when 2nd (Fr3) over 1660m after showing early speed at this track, beaten 11 m by Sweet Mia (1:53.80) in 4yo+ M on May 23 at $5. Fitter so could go one better. | |||
Another capacity field for the Flashing Red, with a strong front line. FERNCO NEL (12) faces a 10m impost as he tackles this following a dictating win over the mobile 2138. Showing good composure in a delayed start at his first attempt from the tapes three starts back, he has oodles of speed and can convert it over the staying trip here.
REGAZZO DI TILLY (8) faced a 20m tape under the conditions two starts back and was able to force the issue, work to the front and fight on for victory. With one month between runs going into that assignment, he could have been closer than then 6m last start with a cleaner passage and the outside could be a blessing in a capacity field.
TYSON (1) is two from three at the standing start format, including a last start win over this same trip. Taking cover on that occasion before darting through on the passing lane to score, he has the position to feature.
SPEAK THE TRUTH (14) is the best credentialed pacer in the line up but will need to overcome the 20m tape and the traffic hurdles that appear in a capacity field. A last start dead-heat winner, he is up to the task.
SELECTIONS: FERNCO NEL (12), REGAZZO DI TILLY (8), TYSON (1), SPEAK THE TRUTH (14)
SUGGESTED BET: FERNCO NEL (12) to win

| Brings the right form to the table. Won by 2 m as favourite after showing early speed, (Fr2) at this track (2:32.10) beating Xpress Party in 4yo+ on May 30 at $1.08. Two runs back posted a big 3.5 m win (Sr1) at this track (1:55.30) beating Our Vincent Can Gogh in 4yo+ on May 23 at $2.60. Building a fine record here and could take this next step. | |||
Second up from a spell and chasing a hat-trick of victories last start, RAKASANDY (1) started from a second line gate. Settled in the 1×1 trail, he was eased to the chair with 1300m remaining but was out of tickets turning for home, finishing 8m astern. Back to the front line, he can bounce back with a dictating win.
FLYING COLOURS (2) has been runner-up at his past three in succession, including here two starts back in the same race referenced where RAKASANDY was unplaced. Setting the tempo on that occasion, he was best of the chasing pack last time behind JUNGLE DRAGON.
TRALEE SNICKAS (8) maps for the soft trip in behind the speed and will be awaiting the gaps in the stretch to take his shot. A gritty winner at Redcliffe two starts back, he will be probing.
IM BOO (9) is better suited up near the speed but still maps to be close enough from this gate. A Redcliffe winner when leading two starts back, he was under 2m from the winner last start.
SELECTIONS: RAKASANDY (1), FLYING COLOURS (2), TRALEE SNICKAS (8), IM BOO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 2-8-9

Showed ability the race before when he won by 1.2 m as favourite (Sr5) at this track (2:34.00) beating Credulous in 3yo+ on May 22 at $2. Should get every chance from this draw.
Still chasing a first win here at The Creek, EUREKA JO (2) rejoins the Grimson stable following a midfield return last time out. Faced with the outside second-line gate on that occasion as RUBY RULES proved too classy. A tough trip two back as OAKLEY SHARD carved out a big mile, she gets her chance here.
CHANGE TACT (8) ships in for the Atkinson stable and arrives a last start Menangle winner when sitting parked and claiming a midweek win over the mile. Taking benefit from that second up effort, she was a six-time winner in NZ prior to export. She will be probing for the gaps.
GOLDEN SHOOZ (6) loomed out of the running line here last week but ultimately could not reel in the leader and winner NEEDBEE. Fresh up in that outing, the added fitness will assist here.
SWEET DIOR (9) has placed at her past two starts, the latest when making a late play from the running line to grab the bronze behind LUVARESCHS. With the right trail, she can chime in.
SELECTIONS: EUREKA JO (2), CHANGE TACT (8), GOLDEN SHOOZ (6), SWEET DIOR (9)

Has joined Jason Grimson since last seen and draws to advantage.
A four-time winner from just eight starts, YOTTIE (6) has placed at Group level at his past two starts. A gritty 2nd in the Bathurst Gold Chalice Final from the chair when beaten 1m behind BROOKLYN DAN, his 3rd in the NSW Derby behind HOLLYWOOD STRIP was sizzling, running his own last 800 in 52.87. With two sharp trials on this deck, he can return with a bang.
ALWAYSBJOY (2) has not races since she lost chance in the NSW Oaks Final after going rough soon after the mobile pulled clear, settling back in the pack as ARRHYTMIA claimed victory. A smart 3rd in the heats behind WILLOWS GIRL from a wide gate, she has prepped for next week’s Redcliffe Oaks with a trial on The Triangle and can throw it down from this gate.
FIRE AND PASSION (1) held the front unchallenged from this gate in the Breeders Final and made the opposition pay the price with an effortless 11m victory. With the gat advantage again, there will be some more heat this time.
SELECTIONS: YOTTIE (6), ALWAYSBJOY (2), FIRE AND PASSION (1)
SUGGESTED BET: YOTTIE (6) to win

What looks to be a relatively even mare’s event to close the card where NSW visitor THE ROGUE I AM (5) just needs some favours to find the running line cheaply. A Bathurst winner three starts back from the trail, her next effort at Menangle was sound and she can be swooping here.
BETTORS MOON (9) produced a better effort last time out when 6m astern of LUVARESCHS after taking the trail. With further improvement following three runs back from a spell, she finds a more even contest to what she has faced since returning and can issue the challenge.
WARRAWEE FLYER (1) backs up from Tuesday where she made the most of this same gate over 2138. Taking cover, she shot the gap to take the prize and with options again, can repeat.
HARPERVILLE (6) sat in the trail from inside the second line at the mile two starts back and had the speed to arrive via the lane. Snookered last start, she is a podium hope against these.
SELECTIONS: THE ROGUE I AM (5), BETTORS MOON (9), WARRAWEE FLYER (1), HARPERVILLE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: No Bet
