Wyong Gold Cup Tips & Predictions 2026: Best Bets

Ladbrokes has Wyong Gold Cup tips and predictions for the listed feature race out of Wyong this Friday.

Wyong Gold Cup odds have an even betting market, which should make for an intriguing contest for the provincial cups race.

Best Bet
Matusalem @ $3.50
Open Race time:

Chris Waller looks for consecutive Wyong Gold Cup wins, and Matusalem is his best chance.

The 6YO gelding comes off two quality placings at Randwick, including a third placing in the Premier’s Cup behind Boniface. That’s a quality form guide for the Wyong Gold Cup, and it’s why he’s the current favourite.

He hasn’t won for some time now, which is a concern, but with two runs under his belt this preparation, he looks close to breaking the drought, and being from the Waller stable helps his chances, with Saltcoats winning for Waller last year.

It’s another open contest, but our Wyong Gold Cup tips have Matusalem producing the goods and scoring an overdue victory. The $3.50 odds could firm on race, so take the opening quote.

Next Best
The Euphrates @ $8.00
Open Race time:

The Euphrates is an interesting runner for the Waterhouse/Bott team, who often target this race with their new imports.

The 6YO son of Frankel showed good form overseas to win three of his 12 starts, with another four placings, and something close to that form should be good enough to run well in the Wyong Gold Cup.

He’ll likely sit on speed, like most Waterhouse/Bott-trained runners, and he could keep running. He has plenty of miles under his belt with five recent trials since July, and that should have him ticking over nicely.

There is some risk with backing a runner unseen in Australia, but by all accounts, The Euphrates is good enough to win a provincial cup. He has over $740,000 in the bank, so he won some nice races in Europe, and he could hit the ground running in Australia.

Best Roughie
Valiant King @ $11.00
Open Race time:

It has been a fall from grace for Valiant King, but we’re prepared to give him one more chance this season.

The Waller-trained stayer looked good when storming home in the Caulfield Cup before struggling in the Melbourne Cup. His runs since have been anything but good, including a last-place finish in the Rowley Mile two weeks ago.

Despite the negatives surrounding Valiant King, he’s too talented to leave out of picks. His best form would blow away this field, and we wouldn’t put it past Waller to get him back to his best on Friday.

The double-figure odds are worth including in Wyong Gold Cup predictions.

Punters get value odds with our Wyong Gold Cup SRM, which includes our three selected runners.

We have Matusalem Top 2, The Euphrates Top 4, and Valiant King Top 4, which pays handsome odds at Ladbrokes.

Punters get value odds for Valient King to finish in the Top 4, but being from the Waller stable helps, and he could boost payouts in a big way.
