We have Chelmsford Stakes tips and predictions for the Group 2 1600m race at Randwick on Saturday.
Chelmsford Stakes odds have Lindermann as the favourite, and it should be a cracking contest over the mile.
The 6YO gelding ran fifth in the Group 1 Winx Stakes last start, which should be the best form guide for the Chelmsford Stakes on Saturday.
He is a quality thoroughbred, and although his recent form doesn’t include any wins, he always likes to show his best form at this time of the year, and he has beaten fields better than this.
If they run along quickly enough up front, he should warm into the race nicely, and that could be enough to see him run past them. He is a type who needs things to go his way, but he ran better than Lindermann and Fangirl in the Winx Stakes, so he demands respect.

Nothing went right for Fangirl in the Winx Stakes, and according to jockey Tommy Berry, she bumped with her stablemate early in the run and she lost interest following that.
However, she found the line well enough, and there has been plenty of money come for the Chris Waller-trained mare, who secured the booking of James McDonald, and that could be telling.
McDonald has opted to stay in Sydney as opposed to riding in the Group 1 Moir Stakes, and that’s likely because he’s on runners like Fangirl. She is a big winning hope, and we believe she is the best Waller-trained runner in the field.
She could become the favourite over Lindermann and Ceolwulf, as public money always comes for runners with McDonald riding.

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott had this import set to run in the Wyong Cup on Friday, but they have chosen a much harder race, which is a good sign.
The 5YO son of Frankel is bred to be better than most runners in this field, and his record in Europe consists of three wins and three placings from 11 attempts, and he has over $800,000 in the bank.
It’s always interesting when an imported runner is in the field, especially having their first Australian start. He could be a quality type, and at $16, we’re happy to include him in Chelmsford Stakes tips.
