The latest edition of the Tea Rose Stakes ran on Saturday, September 20, 2025 as a Flight Stakes lead-up on The Shorts Day 2025 with the Michael Freedman trained Apocalyptic ($3) racing away the closing stages for a big win to firm into outright favourite for the Flight Stakes on October 4.
2025 Tea Rose Stakes Results
The official Tea Rose Stakes 2025 race results and full finishing order will be available below once the Group 2 Randwick race is run on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

- 1st: #1 Apocalyptic
- 2nd: #5 Artistic Venture
- 3rd: #2 Tupakara
Apocalyptic ($3) was huge over the final 100m racing away to take out the 2025 Tea Rose Stakes results and go back-to-back after taking out the Furious Stakes fresh. Michael Freedman’s filly is now the $2 favourite for the upcoming Group 1 Flight Stakes where jockey Tommy Berry, who never panicked in the Tea Rose despite sitting three wide for much of the race, believes she’ll see out the mile and be hard to beat.

Tea Rose Stakes Tips
Good Tea Rose Stakes tips include looking for fillies coming off a top three run in Sydney last time out, proven Randwick performers and those suited to at least 1400m. The favourites only have a fair recent record in the race so laying the top fancy is another popular Tea Rose Stakes betting tip during the spring.
2025 Tea Rose Stakes Tips
Our Ladbrokes’ insider Tea Rose Stakes 2025 betting tips and exotic selections will be detailed below leading up to the race so stay tuned for the fillies to get behind in the George Main Stakes Day support act this September.
To Win: #2 Tupakara ($4 at time of publish)
TUPAKARA (3) has been one of the most consistent fillies over the past season if not a little frustrating coming oh so close without winning. She remains a maiden after seven starts but I think that can change second-up on Saturday in the Tea Rose. The Archibald’s daughter of Trapeze Artist was right up there as a juvenile including her third to Nepotism in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) only a neck away in a blanket finish at Randwick. Fresh she was also narrowly denied by Apocalyptic, who is the favourite on Saturday, when making up ground from the back. Tupakara however looks the value for mine set to relish the 1400m now and a better draw. The flying J-Mac stays on, she presents fit, gets the blinkers on and will be there in the finish.
