- To Win: #1 Broadsiding ($2.10 at time of publish) – BET NOW
Good field of some standout autumn 3YOs but Broadsiding even at the short quote first-up is a hard to knock favourite and happy to stick with the Godolphin galloper. James Cummings’ Too Darn Hot colt won the Group 1 JJ Atkins – Golden Rose double last time in and should have no issues in a Group 2 over 1400m first-up. He’s a proven first-up winner previously with a lovely strike-rate at this distance (3:2-0-1). Rosehill also poses no problems with his Golden Rose victory taking place at this track and trip. Proved his class when third in the Cox Plate trifecta before things came undone back to 1600m for the Champions Mile when 10th of 11 runners. More than happy to forgive that blip off an otherwise outstanding campaign. He’s the deserving top elect and will take the power of beating. Stick with.

Hobartville Stakes Form Guide
The Hobartville Stakes has proven a key form guide to follow for tougher Group 1 races during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival in recent years.
2013 Hobartville Stakes winner Pierro went on to win the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) before his second in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m), while both Dissident (2014) and Hallowed Crown (2015) took out the Randwick Guineas for their respective seasons.
In 2023 the Hobartville Stakes was won by a son of the race’s 2013 winner Pierro, Osipenko.
The Hobartville Stakes form stacked-up in the Randwick Guineas from 2013 – 2019 with all seven winners of the Group 1 coming off the lead-up.
The latest Hobartville Stakes winner to take out the Randwick Guineas next start was The Autumn Sun in 2019 who also won the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m). Anamoe (2022) was the last horse to do the Hobartville Stakes – Rosehill Guineas double. He also finished second in that year’s Randwick Guineas in between.
The colts and geldings also have a far better Hobartville Stakes winning record than the fillies.
The Hobartville form in 2023 was franked with runner-up Zou Tiger rounding out the Randwick Guineas trifecta with a Group 1 third at his next start.
