Eskimo Prince Stakes Tips
Eskimo Stakes tips include backing previous Group winners in the mix, looking for the horse with a good Randwick strike-rate and steering clear of the fillies who have a dismal recent record against the colts and geldings in this race.
That said, Tempted (2026) did beat home the boys fresh as the class runner in that year’s event.
Any gallopers that raced in Group 1 company during the previous spring also make a good Eskimo Prince Stakes betting tip as do those proven over more distance but that are resuming over the 1200m.

The Eskimo Prince Stakes is a Group 3 sprint race conducted in either late January or early February as a lead-up into the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

Run at set weights plus penalties, the event is open only to three-year-olds and offers $250,000 in prize money.
Contested over 1200m, the Eskimo Prince Stakes was first run in 1984 and gained Group 3 status in 2015.
Having been run and won over various racecourses around Sydney, it currently takes place at Royal Randwick Racecourse as the sole Group status race on the standalone card.
The event is named in honour of the 1964 Golden Slipper Stakes winner Eskimo Prince.
Horses that do well in the Eskimo Prince Stakes may have bigger autumn targets in sight including the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) in March.
Kementari (2018) was the last horse to complete the Eskimo Prince Stakes – Randwick Guineas double.
In 2022 Converge improved on a third in the Eskimo Prince Stakes results to win the Randwick Guineas and run second in that year’s Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m).
The 2023 Randwick Guineas also came via a lead-up run in the Eskimo Prince with Communist improving on his third in the Group 3.
The 2026 Eskimo Prince Stakes winner Tempted saluted for the punters fresh in her first start since running second to Hong Kong hero Ka Ying Rising in the previous spring’s $20 million The Everest race.
