No. 1 Geisel

The Paul Perry trained Geisel looks well placed in the opening race of the day at Newcastle this afternoon.

The son of Teofilo has been placed in three of his four career starts to this date and on exposed form he has a class advantage on this field which lacks a whole heap of depth.

A recent trial win suggests he is ready to fire first up and he will be tough to beat with even luck.

Newcastle - Race 4 2:30pm AEDT

No. 4 Sea Legend

Sea Legend is a promising young stayer who is putting together a nice racing resume.

The lightly raced four year old has won twice from six career starts including a dominant 2.5 length win on the Gold Coast last start.

He rises in both weight and distance for this assignment but he clearly looks the one to beat.

Newcastle - Race 5 3:10pm AEDT

No. 8 Lonely Power

Lonely Power was placed when resuming on the heavy track here at Newcastle before the race was not run to suit at his next start.

The Kris Lees and Aaron Bullock combination has proven lethal here at Newcastle and this guy is one from one at this distance.

There has been a heap of early support for the horse in betting suggesting he will run really well.

Newcastle - Race 6 3:50pm AEDT

No. 4 Hadouken

Three year old gelding Hadouken broke through for his maiden win last start at this track and although it was only a narrow margin, there was plenty to like about it.

He will only be fitter for his two runs this prep and the step up in distance suits.

Can knock over the favourite.
