Metropolitan racing in Sydney heads to Rosehill Gardens this Saturday afternoon with 10 races on the prgram.
Our full 2023 Lord Mayors Cup Day Preview can be found below.
Not a whole lot of exposed form for these juveniles to sift through so I’m happy to watch on.

Kyeema made his Australian racing debut at Rosehill three weeks ago and he was far from disgraced when finishing fourth.
He has placed four times from eight career starts and will take plenty of benefit out of that first up effort.

Dollar Magic is a very progressive type of horse, a trait often needed to be winning the Highway race.
He finished second in a similar race first up and was a dominant 2.4 length winner in a Benchmark 74 at Dubbo last time out.
Drawn well and the apprentice will give some weight relief.

Robusto is a dual acceptor at this meeting and while I’ve also tipped later in the card at a bigger price, I think he’s worth a bet should connections chose to race here.
Brett Prebble will steer the horse in this event, he’s drawn better and has less weight as well.

Starianne broke through for her maiden win at Ballarat earlier this prep before being narrowly denied at Ladbrokes Park Sandown over 1500m.
The Busuttin and Young stable then through her in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks at Morphettville where she was far from disgraced, beaten by only two lengths.
This is a much easier assignment and she has drawn perfectly in barrier three.
2 Units Starianne
I have a bit of time for the three-year-old Robusto who was placed in the Group 3 Spring Stakes at Newcastle back in November of last year.
He resumed at Gosford in a Benchmark 78 where he was beaten just 2.5 lengths and he should benefit from that run into this event.
He’ll need some luck but he represents good each way value at his current price.

The Maher And Eustace team have a progressive stayer on their hands in the shape of Union Gap who has been impressive in both starts so far this prep.
The son of Redwood won by over two lengths at Warwick Farm first up before carrying 56.5kg to victory over 2130m here last start.
This is another test but with natural improvement he should be tough to beat again.
2 Units Union Gap
Cotehele was well backed when resuming in a Benchmark 100 at Randwick but only battled through the line.
The son of Tavistock then finished within two lengths of Coal Crusher in a similar race here at Rosehill on a heavy 9.
He should be nearing peak fitness now, he will appreciate the step back in class and should get a nice run in transit from barrier five.
1 Unit E/W Cotehele
I loved the way Navajo Peak hit the line when stepping up in class last start, finishing second in the Listed Gosford Gold Cup.
The four year old gelding has been consistent right throughout this prep and he is unbeaten from two starts over 2000m.
2 Units E/W Navajo Peak
Mirra View was well beaten when resuming from a spell at this track and distance but she is a mare that usually takes a big step forward at her second run.
The lightly raced four year old mare has two wins from three attempts second up and she represents great each way value at $21 to close out the day.
