The two-year-olds will take centre stage this Saturday at Randwick as $2 million goes on the line in the Inglis Millenium.
The ten-race program also features the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes, signalling that the Sydney Autumn Carnival isn’t far away.
We’ve done the hard work for you and our findings can be found below.
Race 1 - 12:30pm AEDT
MIDWAY HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
Cirebon (8) is racing in great form with two wins and two seconds in her past four starts.
The Sara Ryan-trained mare was able to control proceedings two starts ago at Canterbury when leading all the way for an easy 1.3 length win.
Similar tactics at the same venue just failed to work last start when she was picked off in the shadows of the post.
Reece Jones has built a great relationship with the four-year-old and is again the pilot.
1 Unit – Cirebon (8)
Race 2 - 1:05pm AEDT
DARLEY LONHRO PLATE (1000 METRES)
Anode (1) resumes following an impressive debut over 1100m at this track.
The Waterhouse Bott-trained I Am Invincible colt led all the way to romp in by 3.5 lengths despite suffering from mild heat stress.
He’s warmed up for this first-up assignment with two trials, winning the most recent.
He needs to overcome the outside gate but possesses early speed and will no doubt have an excellent level of fitness.
1 Unit – Anode (1)
Race 3 - 1:40pm AEDT
INGLIS CLASSIC YEARLING SALE 11-13 FEB HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
Infinitive (6) returned from a 43-week break in fine order last start at Warwick Farm.
The Chris Waller-trained Hellbent mare was doing her best work late and was strong through the line when finishing a half-length second to Hell Hath No Fury.
She meets that horse slightly better at the weights and will appreciate the rise in distance.
Kerrin McEvoy will likely settle back from the wide gate before getting her to the outside in the straight.
1 Unit – Infinitive (6)
Race 4 - 2:15pm AEDT
HIGHWAY HANDICAP (1200 METRES)
Belvedere Boys (3) follows the path that Murwillumbah trainer Matt Dunn has been using recently to enjoy an abundance of Highway Handicap success.
The four-year-old gelding ventures south following an impressive first-up performance at Doomben where he let down powerfully to win by 1.5 lengths.
He’ll strip fitter and won his only previous second-up race which was over this distance.
There looks to be good speed in the race which will aid his chances.
2 Units – Belvedere Boys (3)
Race 5 - 2:50pm AEDT
THE WESTMEAD INSTITUTE FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH HANDICAP (1300 METRES)
Gently Rolled (7) has only been out of the top three once in eight starts and looks set for another good preparation following a great first-up effort.
The Bryce Heys-trained mare resumed in great order last start when running on strongly from the back to finish just under a length second over 1200m at Rosehill.
She was only warming up late so the rise to 1300m here second-up will suit.
A likely strong tempo will help her to get over the top of them.
1 Unit – Gently Rolled (7)
Race 6 - 3:25pm AEDT
GROUP 3 ESKIMO PRINCE STAKES (1200 METRES)
This year’s Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes is a quality race with a number of three-year-olds engaged that will no doubt play a role during the Autumn.
Moravia (5) resumes here following a disappointing effort in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes.
Prior to that, the Michael Freedman-trained colt impressed when winning on debut before placing in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes and the Group 2 Run To The Rose.
He looked super in a recent trial where he cruised home to finish just behind black-type winner Queen Of The Ball.
Tommy Berry should be able to settle close to the action.
1 Unit – Moravia (5)
Race 7 - 4:00pm AEDT
INGLIS MILLENNIUM (1100 METRES)
The Waterhouse Bott stable have been a dominant force in two-year-old races this season and they again have a strong hand in the Ingliss Millennium.
Their Hellbent colt, Fully Lit (4), is facing the starter for the second time following an impressive debut over 1100m at Rosehill two weeks ago.
He worked early to find the front before dashing clear late to win by 2.8 lengths.
He’ll have taken benefit from the experience and if he doesn’t have to work too hard from an outside gate, he’ll be fighting out the finish.
1 Unit – Fully Lit (4)
Race 8 - 4:35PM AEDT
LAUREL OAK BLOODSTOCK HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
Frilled (8) resumes here looking to keep her unbeaten record intact.
The Matt Smith-trained four-year-old mare has won all five starts and has improved with each outing.
She has warmed up for this first-up assignment with two slick trial wins where she was hard held in both.
From barrier 3, Kerrin McEvoy can go find the front and give plenty of cheek with the light weight.
2 Units – Frilled (8)
Race 9 - 5:15pm AEDT
ASI SOLUTIONS HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
Amor Victorious (8) followed up an eye-catching trial with an equally impressive first-up performance last start.
The Bjorn Baker-trained gelding led from start to finish over 1400m here to easily account for his rivals by 2.8 lengths.
Estadio Mersalla was second and he has since won well to frank the form.
The four-year-old will strip fitter second-up and the rise to a mile looks ideal.
2 Units – Amor Victorious (8)
Race 10 - 5:55pm AEDT
PRECISE AIR HANDICAP (1200 METRES)
Tintookie (3) returned in fantastic order when winning over 1000m here.
Last start the Brad Widdup-trained daughter of Winning Rupert hit the line hard to finish second by 1.3 lengths to Our Kobison over 1100m at Rosehill.
Our Kobison franked the form by not only winning his next start but breaking the Rosehill 1200m track record that had stood since 1997.
She’ll strip fitter third-up and maps to get a great run for Kerrin McEvoy.
2 Units – Tintookie (3)
