Our latest Eagle Farm Preview focuses on the Girls Day Out Race Day at Brisbane’s Eagle Farm Racecourse this Saturday.
Ten races will be run and won and with fine conditions expected, it’s set to be a cracking day.
The rail will be out 2.5m for the entire circuit and the track is currently rated a soft 5.
Influential is relishing life in the Sunshine State and looks well placed to make it back to back wins.
Formally prepared by Chris Waller, the gelding has just had the two starts since joining the Jimmy Downes stable at Beaudesert and has impressed on both occasions.
He just peaked off a wide run when resuming over 1350m at Doomben but with the added fitness, he proved too good there last start.
Placed in all three outings over the mile last campaign, he looks well suited with the rise in trip and draws to enjoy a cosy run under Andrew Mallyon.

Ouroboros resumes for the new stable and the son of Harry Angel has been gelded since we last him on raceday.
Formally prepared by the Price / Kent team, the four-year-old has shown good ability and boasts solid form around him.
In seven starts, he’s only missed a top three spot on one occasion and he was beaten a nose when finishing the runner up in the Group 3 Vain Stakes behind Cylinder.
He looks ready to go following a recent trial win and gets the blinkers back on.
Boris Thornton will do the steering for Matt Hoysted and he’s set to get the right run from gate two.

Atomic Time was rolled as the short priced favourite when making his debut here a fortnight ago but it was a big ask at 1300m off just the one public trial.
There was a lot to like to like about his performance and he will have taken plenty of improvement from it.
The son of Time Test took up the running and did everything right and now with the race experience on the board and the added fitness, I think he can get the job done.
With Jimmy Orman showcasing his talent in Hong Kong, the gelding gets a suitable replacement in Jag Guthmann-Chester.

Goodlucktome makes the journey from Sydney and he should find this easier than what he’s been contesting.
The son of Written Tycoon broke through for his maiden win at Canterbury two runs back before stepping out in the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes.
Settling midfield in the three year old feature, he worked home strongly and just looked peak on his run late but it was a solid effort to finish fourth behind Public Attention.
He did have five weeks between runs on that occasion so he strips fitter and the rise to 1400m looks ideal.
Michael Rodd will take the mount for Ciaron Maher and the low draw is a big plus given that he does have to carry top weight.

El Jasor comes off a strong first up win over 1800m at the Sunshine Coast and he looks very progressive.
The Irish bred gelding kicked off his career in the UK where he recorded two wins before making his way down under.
He failed to fire in two Australian starts last campaign but given time, he looks to have settled in well.
With that run under his belt, he’ll relish the rise to 2200m and whilst he does rise in grade, he drops 3kgs.
Andrew Mallyon retains the mount for Kris Lees and if he can slot in and find cover early off the wide gate, he’ll be strong late.

Set To Shine finished off strongly when resuming over 1200m but she was badly hampered in the straight last start, which put paid to her chances.
With five wins to her name, the Tony Gollan trained mare has worked through the grades nicely and she looks to have come back in top order.
She presents at peak fitness, she does perform very well over the 1400m and is well suited here at her home track.
Emily Lang jumps aboard, she’ll take 2kgs off and from gate five, is sure to afford her every chance.

No Name Frank is putting together a tidy record and the form around him is solid.
A late bloomer, the five year old son of Super One kicked off his career in style scoring back to back wins and he’s performed well in four subsequent runs.
He just had the very handy Fukubana get the better of him late when coming off a five week freshen up and he was solid to the line last time behind Capernova when dropping back to 1200m.
He’s fit, he looks well suited up to this trip and draws to receive all the favours under regular rider Georgina Cartwright.

Compelling Truth returns to the races.
Prepared at Mudgee by Mack Griffith, the I Am Invincible gelding has recorded nine wins from his eighteen starts and his first up record is hard to overlook.
Sent to paddock after enduring a wide run in the Kosciuszko, he comes here off two pleasing trials and the 1000m first up looks ideal.
Aaron Bullock makes the trip to Queensland to partner the gelding and the low draw can see him make his own luck up on speed.

Termagant comes off a commanding win over 1100m at Doomben and she looks to have a bright future.
It was a deserved win for the daughter of Deep Field after she was terribly unlucky at her prior start.
Settling midfield, she found clear running at the top of the straight and sprinted strongly over the final part to pull away and score by over two lengths.
With four wins and win placings from her eight career starts, she’s quickly putting together a very hand record.
She does rise in grade but drops 3kgs and the inside draw can see her enjoy a cosy run throughout.

Cunnamulla Fella has been racing well but bad gates have just made it hard for him for to find the winner’s stall.
Taken back over 1400m here three starts back, he finished off strongly in the worst part of the track.
Up to the mile at his following outing, he was able to settle closer and charged late to get within half a length of the smart Torobella.
He was doing his best work late again last start over this track and trip, powering home from the tail to claim second.
The Better Than Ready gelding boasts a great record over the mile and barrier four can see him settle within striking distance under Vlad Duric.
