The UFC Apex in Las Vegas will play host to an exciting card of fights this Sunday, and we are here to provide some betting plays!
The main event will see two lightweights looking to rise up the ranks with a win in the form of Renato Moicano and Chris Duncan.
There are plenty of quality matchups for fight fans, and our thoughts can be found below.
Renato Moicano will enter his 29th professional MMA fight on Sunday in search of his 21st win.
He is currently ranked 10th in the UFC Lightweight division and will be eager to snap a two fight losing streak.
Previous to those losses he had won four fights in a row including three finishes against Brad Riddell, Jalin Turner and Benoit Saint-Denis.
He came in at very short notice to fight Islam Makhachev for the Lightweight title to start 2025 and the last time we saw him was in June last year when he lost a decision to Beneil Dariush.
Chris Duncan has earned this fight against a ranked opponent thanks to four wins in a row including three submissions.
His recent fighting resume hasn’t been against any big names although he did submit Terrence Mickinney via a first round anaconda in December.
A very well rounded MMA style will set him up well against someone like Moicano, who is dangerous on the ground, but I give the edge to the more experienced fighter on the feet.
This is a banger of a main event and while I do think Duncan is the most likely winner of the fight, it’s not by as big of a margin as what the market is suggesting.
Brazilian Virna Jandiroba has an impressive recent record in the UFC and managed five wins in succession to earn a title fight at the end of last year.
Angela Hill, Amanda Lemos and Yan Xiaonan all fell victim to her well rounded style of MMA but she fell short against Mackenzie Dern when fighting for UFC gold.
Tabatha Ricci has earned this shot at a high profile opponent thanks to seven wins in her last nine fights.
None of those wins were more impressive than her second round TKO victory against Amanda Ribas in mid 2025 and another win would have her right on the precipice of a title fight.
In saying that, her older and more experienced opponent has many tricks in her bag and although I do think this will be a close fight, I’m siding with Jandiroba.
Two light heavyweights. Two unique names!
Russian Abdulrakhman Yakhyaev won a UFC contract through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2025 thanks to a first round KO victory.
He kept his unbeaten record intact in his UFC debut with another first round finish, this time by submission proving his MMA skills.
Brendson ‘The Gorrilla’ Ribeiro is a 29 year-old Brazilian with a record of 17-9 with one no contest.
Five of his career losses have been by knockout including his last two in the UFC.
Another loss and his UFC record will read 2:5 which may spell the end for him in the biggest promotion in the world.
