South Africa vs South Korea Predictions – Group A (Match 9)

Enormous game for both sides with a spot in the knockout stage on the line. 

It would take something special for South Africa to qualify from here, although Hugo Broos’s side kept their hopes alive by salvaging a point in last week’s draw with the Czech Republic. 

Their opening game against Mexico was complete annihilation though, suffering a 2-0 defeat with two players being sent off in the second half. 

South Korea took that same Mexico side to the sword last week in a game they probably deserved to win. A goal on the other side of the half time break saw Hong Myung-bo’s side fall 1-0, but there were big positives to draw after dominating possession and registering eight shots against a top quality opponent. 

In saying that, many feel the Koreans have fallen well short of expectations. 

Names like Son Heung-Min and PSG’s Lee Kang-In are two of the better forwards in the game, and both should be able to make an impact against a very questionable South Africa side.
