American Eagle looks to stay unbeaten after digging deep to win at Caulfield. That’s one of the main lead-in races for Saturday’s event, and he could mature into a Group 1 type this season.
He has been heavily backed to win the Caulfield Guineas, but he will go a long way to taking out the feature with a win on Saturday. He’s still in his first preparation, which makes it tough, but he’s a tough 3YO.
Mark Zahra’s strikerate in his last 50 rides is solid, and this is the time of the year where he hits his straps. Look for a good ride from barrier 8, and he has time to find cover and outgun them in the straight.
