The 2024 Formula 1 World Championship has sprung to life after last week’s incident between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.
There will be no cooling off period for either of the top two drivers in the standings as the action moves to the famous Silverstone circuit in the Midlands.
Officially this is the home Grand Prix for a number of teams who base themselves in the UK and there is plenty of drama on the cards this weekend.
Upon completion of the race we will also be at the midway point of the season as the drivers hit the back end of a busy and eventful triple header.

Race Winner
Max Verstappen is not running away with the championship anymore and there is some proper competition behind him.
Were it not for some (possibly) over aggressive driving from the Dutchman and Lando Norris in Austria, the latter looked very likely to go by Verstappen and win the race for himself.
His record in his home Grand Prix is quite good, finishing in the points in all bar his debut, with the best result coming 12 months ago as runner up behind Verstappen.
It only feels like a matter of time before his McLaren goes by the Red Bull on the track and with the home crowd behind him, this is the race to have a play on Norris.

Winning Margin
It won’t come easy for whoever wins though, with the final margin likely to be minute.
There is a decent bit of value backing under six seconds and given Verstappen and Norris are likely to fight to the end, that is the way to go here.

Podium Finish
We’re going to go with a bit of a British theme here and back George Russell, who was the beneficiary of the collision in Austria, to be the best of the rest behind Norris and Verstappen.
Not to mention the steady improvement in results for both Russell and Mercedes in general, I’m expecting a big weekend for him at Silverstone.

Points Finish
Now it’s time to double dip on the points finisher market and back a couple of wily veterans on this track.
While this has not been the preferred track for Kevin Magnussen, he has three points finishes here and last week did record his best result for the season.
Then there is Daniel Ricciardo who is seemingly driving for his F1 life at the moment and his improvement compared to teammate Yuki Tsunoda is astonishing.
Perhaps the V-CARB is not the fastest car but with the right driver it is good enough for a top 10 outcome.

Number of Race Leaders
Depending on the pit stop strategies we could see any number of race leaders in this market and if the weather decides to go a bit nuts, there will be even more upheaval.
Either way, the overs look like solid value here.

Classified Finishers
If there is one complaint about F1 this season, it’s that the drivers are too good and there are not as many crashes as there has been in the past.
In fact, we have had back to back races with all 20 cars classified given Norris had completed enough laps before withdrawing.
Over all this season, there have been 19 or 20 cars finish in five of the 11 races to date and another full field finish looks entirely possible at Silverstone.
