Four races remain in the 2025 Formula 1 season and the drivers’ championship is a three way battle ahead of this weekend’s Sao Paulo Grand Prix from Interlagos in Brazil.
This race was the wildest one on the 2024 calendar as the weather wreaked havoc on the weekend and the 2025 edition has a lot to live up to.
Max Verstappen produced the drive of his career to win last year’s race, starting in 17th place and working his way through the field to win the race and inch closer to the overall title.
What was even more bizarre were the two Alpine drivers joining him on the podium with Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly rounding out the placings.
Lando Norris took over the top spot in the driver’s championship last round, currently one point clear of his teammate Oscar Piastri and 36 clear of the Dutchman Verstappen.

Race Winner
While he didn’t have the pace in Mexico City, Verstappen should be the outright favourite in this market having won three of the last five races.
Instead he is joint favourite with Lando Norris and the value is on the reigning world champion with his record in Brazil since the return to Interlagos post-Covid.
He has recorded a second, sixth and two wins over the last four years and looks the goods to dominate this weekend again.
Depending on the results of the sprint race on Sunday morning, it could open up the possibility of Verstappen being able to overtake Norris in Las Vegas in two weeks time.
It just feels inevitable right now.

Podium Finish
Oscar Piastri has failed to stand on the podium in each of the last four races and his odds are blowing out in every market.
He is at $6.00 to win the race and $2.00 to finish in the top three this week but with the way he is driving at the moment, you cannot back him with any confidence.
Instead, Charles Leclerc has been in great form lately with back to back podiums and seeing him on the fourth line of betting with George Russell is a bit of a surprise.
The Monaco native is yet to finish on the podium in Sao Paulo but he may never have a better opportunity as he seems to be getting a handle on his car (better late than never).

Top Six Finish
Happy to keep the Ferrari theme going in this market with Lewis Hamilton one to keep an eye on at $1.60.
While he has been hit and miss over the last few weeks in this market, he has not finished lower than eighth since Zandvoort.
Add in George Russell who has been a consistent top six performer all season long, recording 16 top-six finishes this season already and you have a decent SGM.

Points Finish
Still trying to build a case for a Formula 1 seat in 2026, Yuki Tsunoda will be desperate to put in a good performance this weekend as his Red Bull contract winds down.
He has alternated between top-ten and bottom-ten finishes over the last seven races and he could only manage an 11th place in Mexico last time so on that trend he is due.
One driver who has been very impressive over the last three races has been Oli Bearman with three straight points finishes and getting him at his current price is more than a bit surprising.
Add in the potential for a rain impacted race and it could also push some of the chasing pack up the positions if there are a few retirements.

The Sao Paulo weather forecast is not exactly encouraging and based on last year’s event, we could be in for a chaotic weekend of racing.
Just 18 cars managed to start the race following Alex Albon’s withdrawal and Lance Stroll crashing out on the formation lap and three more cars failed to finish the race after it began.
Going to go big on this market and search for some value with a high potential for in-race drama.
