Check out our Daily Racing Tips for Thursday September 10th below, including Hawkesbury best bets.
HITCH (7) has progressed nicely through his first three starts, placing at his first two appearances before breaking through with a strong win at his latest outing over 1400m.
He steps up to 1600m for this Class 1 and gets 56.5kg, and with that progressive form behind him, he looks well placed to handle the rise in grade.

| Racing well recently. Last start favourite; won by a head in a Mdn-Sw at Kembla Grange on August 15 over 1400m defeating Unbridled Storm carrying 56.5kg at $2.35. The start before that 3rd in a small field in a Cge Mdn-Sw at Kembla Grange on July 25 over 1300m, 0.7 len behind Short Sea carrying 56.5kg at $1.80. One of the chief contenders who can hold his form. | |||
PREFER DIAMONDS (3) has been racing consistently this preparation and improved sharply to finish third at Rosehill last time out, beaten just over a length in a Midway event.
She returns to Hawkesbury for this 2000m assignment and, with that latest run suggesting she’s close to another win, she looks a strong chance to go one better.

| Most recently 3rd of 12 in a Midway Bm72(70) at Rosehill on August 29 over 1800m, on a slow track; neck behind Proxima Dea with 53kg at $51. The start before that 5th of 13 in a Cond Bm68 at Kembla Grange on August 15 over 1600m, 2.5 len behind Natural Ruler carrying 56kg at $21. Working herself into form and not to be underestimated. | |||
SHALAA GOLD (3) resumed with a strong second over 1000m at Kembla Grange before finishing eighth over 1100m at Canterbury, where he began awkwardly and was hampered early.
He has since been back to the trials, which should have him ready to improve third-up, and despite carrying 61kg, his fresh form gives him claims in this Benchmark 64.
| 2. Shalaa Gold (3) J: Olivia Chambers 59kg 68×28T: Marc & Mitchell Conners | |||
| Third-up today and placed third-up in the past. First-up tried to lead throughout but was claimed late 2nd of 8 in a Bm64 at Kembla Grange on July 16 over 1000m, 1.0 len behind Century Song carrying 60kg at $3.60. Last start from last on the turn ran second last of 9 in a 5yo+ Bm72 at Canterbury on August 12 over 1100m, slow going 4 len behind Donwon carrying 58kg at $13. Gets a better setup for this with the claim, go close. | |||
STALLONE (5) returned from a spell with a narrow win over 1300m at Illawarra Grange before producing another strong effort to finish second at Newcastle over 1300m last time out.
He steps up to 1400m here with Kerrin McEvoy aboard again, and that recent form gives him a strong platform to go one better today.
