2026 Alan Brown Stakes Results
The official 2026 Alan Brown Stakes Results & Finishing Order will be published below once the $1.5 million Sydney race takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

- #15 Formal Display
- #8 Estadio Mestalla
- #11 Linebacker
Formal Display ($26) emerged as a genuine The Big Dance contender with a stunning upset in the 2026 Alan Brown Stakes results at Rosehill, the double-figure outsider overcoming a wide draw and a tough run in transit to score a determined victory for trainers Annabel and Rob Archibald. Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, the progressive son of Too Darn Hot pressed forward early before finding a perfect position and proving too strong late, defeating fellow longshot Estadio Mestalla by a long neck, with Linebacker a further half-length away in third. The win was another step in a carefully planned campaign towards The Big Dance (1600m) at Randwick on Melbourne Cup Day, with connections confirming the rich feature has been the gelding’s major target since qualifying through the Tamworth Showcase Cup earlier this year. Following the career-best performance, Ladbrokes shortened Formal Display’s The Big Dance 2026 odds from $8 into $6, elevating him to the second line of betting for Sydney’s lucrative spring showpiece.
