Magic Millions 2YO Classic Tips

Gold Coast Magic Millions Classic tips include looking for two-year-olds with at least two career runs on their record as no horse has won the race at their second start. Proven stakes and Group status winners also do well in the Magic Millions tips each year and those with winning form over a similar distance the right-handed way of racing are also worth tipping.

The fillies have dominated the recent Magic Millions Classic results with seven wins from 2017 – 2026 – and 11 of the past 17 as of 2026 – and so looking at the in-form summer fillies is another good tip.

Coolangatta (2022), Skirt The Law (2023), and O’Ole (2025) are the last fillies to win.

Colts and geldings as well as fillies all face off in the Magic Millions Classic field every January vying for a share in the $3 million prize money.

In 2016 Capitalist took out the Magic Millions Classic – Golden Slipper double for Team Snowden.

Earlier the previous spring many new season fillies contest Sydney’s Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) ahead of a shot in the following summer’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic. The 2022 Gimcrack Stakes winner Platinum Jubilee ran second in the 2023 Magic Millions 2YO Classic behind the Tony Gollan-trained filly Skirt The Law.

Fillies out of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic field may back-up in Rosehill’s Group 3 Widden Stakes (1100m) a fortnight later with Away Game (2020) the last to do the double.

Entries for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic close in early December around six weeks out from the race and then the final field the week of the race.
