The Inglis Millennium is a $2 million, Restricted Listed feature race in Sydney for two-year-old Inglis Sales’ graduates.

The event runs at Royal Randwick Racecourse in early to mid February.

It is now the feature race at the meeting as of 2024 and is joined on the program by the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) for three-year-old horses.

It was inaugurated in 2015 as the Inglis Classic before being renamed and revamped as the Inglis Millennium for the first time in 2019.

From 2015-2018 it ran over 1200m before being reduced to the current 1100m distance in 2020.

The race holds Restricted Listed status in the same vein as the $3 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) event for Magic Millions graduates held on the Gold Coast in Queensland each summer.

Held over 1100m the event is open only to two-year-old nominated to the Inglis Race Series that were offered for sale at any Inglis Yearling Sale.

For the first time in 2023 the event also has attached the Inglis Pink Bonus whereby a purchase from the Inglis Sales is fully paid up for the Inglis Race Series and registered as minimum 75% female owned. There is a $400,000 bonus to the first eligible majority female owned-horse home in the 2023 Inglis Millennium results.

Inglis Millennium Betting

Inglis Millennium betting odds are led by two-year-olds with previous race experience, non-maidens, and any that have contested key lead-up events in Sydney.

Any youngsters that have won earlier Inglis-restricted events also sit higher up the Inglis Millennium betting markets in the autumn.

Fillies are also usually kept safe in betting on the Inglis Millennium race with the girls having won five of the nine editions of the event from 2015-2023. Xtravagant Star (2022) followed by Learning To Fly (2023) are the latest fillies to beat home the boys in the Inglis Millennium results.

Profiteer ($1.75 in 2021) for his five length victory over 100/1 roughie Baranof in 2021, Learning To Fly ($4 in 2023), Fully Lit ($2.80 in 2024), and Fireball ($4.60 in 2026) are the last favourites in Inglis Millennium betting to salute for the punters.

There was a notable upset earlier when Prime Star won the 2020 Inglis Millennium at $18 odds.

There was also plenty of value in the 2019 Inglis Millennium winner Castelvecchio, the subsequent Group 1 winner taking out the race that ran at Warwick Farm that year as a $21 outsider.

Inglis Millennium Field

The Inglis Millennium race field attracts a field of the season’s most promising two-year-old sprinters.

A key early lead-up into the Inglis Millennium field is the Restricted Listed Inglis Nursery (1000m) held at Randwick the December prior or the $1 million Golden Gift (1100m) held the November before.

Following a run in the Inglis Millennium field horses may continue on in Sydney over the autumn targeting a race like the Group 2 $1 million Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) back at Randwick in April on the second day of ‘The Championships’. In 2022 Paris Dior improved on a second in the Inglis Millennium to win that year’s Percy Sykes Stakes.

In 2023 the Inglis Millennium winning filly Learning To Fly came off a winning debut in the Group 3 Widden Stakes (1100m) a fortnight earlier.

2026 Inglis Millennium Field

The official Inglis Millennium field 2026 and barriers will be published here once it’s finalised on the Tuesday of race week.

The Inglis Millennium 2026 final field features a capacity line-up of hopeful two-year-olds led in betting by Lindsay Park’s Home Affairs filly Jacaranda coming off a huge debut win at Seymour and resuming Written By colt Plagiarism from the Waterhouse/Bott yard.

Inglis Millennium Form Guide

The Inglis Millennium form guide lists all of the important information punters need to consider before placing a bet including the jockeys, trainers, barriers and lead-up form of the runners.

Looking for two-year-olds prepared in Sydney, those drawn well and past Randwick winners are all key Inglis Millennium form pointers to consider.

Already the Inglis Millennium form has gone on to stack-up in tougher events over the years including when the 2019 winner Castelvecchio returned that April to run third in the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) before winning the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m).

Castelvecchio also came back as a three-year-old that spring to run second in both the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) in Sydney as well as Melbourne’s iconic Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) at The Valley. He also won the 2020 Rosehill Guineas further franking the Inglis Millennium form.

In 2023 Learning To Fly won the Inglis Millennium before success in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m). She also contested the Golden Slipper that autumn but lost her rider.

The 2025 Inglis Millennium stacked up beautifully as a form race, with winner Rivellino stepping straight out and taking the Group 2 Skyline Stakes at his next run. The runner-up, Within The Law, only strengthened the profile further, finishing top three in multiple elite races afterwards — including seconds in both the Group 1 Champagne Stakes and Group 1 Flight Stakes.
