Daily Racing Tips – Friday 28th August

Check out our Friday Racing Tips for August 28th below, including Gosford best bets.

Gosford: Race 4
No. 10 Plume

PLUME looks a strong chance to break through after resuming with a solid second, and she should strip fitter for that effort with Dylan Gibbons taking the ride.

Ho Aloha has been remarkably consistent without winning, placing in six of her last seven starts, while Usain Boss also brings a handy second-up profile and should appreciate any improvement.

ARGANSORT is worth respecting from the Waterhouse & Bott yard, but Plume is the one I’m keenest on here.

Gosford R4 – Ncis Sydney Mdn Plate
Open Race time:
10. Plume (6)
J: Dylan Gibbons 57kg
534×2T: M, W & J Hawkes
Second run back. First-up after five months sat on the speed and boxed on steadily 2nd of 8 in a 4yo+ Mdn-Sw at Newcastle on August 13 over 1250m, 0.9 len behind Revamped with 57kg at $4.80. Previously second-up 5th of 7 in a 4yo+ MDN-Sw at Kembla Grange on February 17 over 1000m, 4.5 len behind Zing To Me with 57kg at $2.80. Fitter and rates to win.

Gosford: Race 6
No. 3 Tacitly

TACITLY looks the one to beat after finishing runner-up at his past two starts, and the return to Gosford looks suitable from barrier four.

The Cristal is another model of consistency and gets a nice draw with 56.5kg, while Where’s My Halo arrives off a win and could take plenty of confidence from that effort.

MAJORIAN has enough ability to be competitive with the apprentice claim, but Tacitly is fit and ready to win, in my opinion.

Gosford R6 – Pluim Group Hcp (Bm64)
Open Race time:
3. Tacitly (4)
J: Alysha Collett 59.5kg
4×222T: Annabel & Rob Archibald
Recent form sound. At the latest run tracked the speed and boxed on steadily 2nd of 11 in a Cl1-Sw at Newcastle on August 13 over 1880m, 0.6 len behind Appeared with 59kg at $3. The start before that made ground from midfield; 2nd of 10 in a Cl1-Sw at Scone on July 31 over 1600m, 1.75 len behind Valedor carrying 57.5kg at $1.50. Hard to beat again.

Gosford: Race 7
No. 1 Glastonbury Girl

GLASTONBURY GIRL resumes following a strong and consistent preparation last time in, where she was last seen striking in BM68 company back in June. She’s trailled up well and will relish claiming a few kgs.

SPIRITUALISTIC has been racing consistently and should be competitive again, while TIDES TURNING gets every chance from barrier one with a handy claim.

FLEET FLYER also warrants respect after returning with a win, but I’m leaning towards Glastonbury Girl to return to action in the best way possible.

Gosford R7 – Central Coast Locksmiths Hcp (Bm64)
Open Race time:
1. Glastonbury Girl (5)
J: Claire Ramsbotham 58.5kg
2831xT: Matthew Smith
Mare back from a spell of ten weeks. Has placed previously first up from a break. Finished off last preparation by long-neck Kembla Grange Cond Bm68 June 20 over 1600m slow track defeating My Shareena with 55.5kg at $5.50. When resuming last campaign third of 11 at Hawkesbury F&M Bm64 April 14 over 1400m, a long neck behind Chilli Margs with 58.5kg at $4.40. Has ability and can run well fresh.

Gosford: Race 8
No. 1 Florino

FLORINO looks a key chance first-up, having shown enough in stronger company previously and getting a handy 1.5kg claim from Will Stanley.

TANNIN is the interesting runner on the inside after just one start, with the 63-rating suggesting he has plenty of ability in something of this quality, while REMEMBER JACK and EXPIDO both have enough recent form to be competitive.

I’m happy to side with Florino to make a winning return.

Gosford R8 – Hudson Trade Centre Mitre 10 Hcp (Bm64)
Open Race time:
1. Florino (10)
J: William Stanley 60.5kg
80x2xT: Nathan Doyle
Back after a long spell. Finished off last campaign set the pace for much of the race 2nd of 8 in a Bm64 at Wyong on February 26 over 1200m, slow going 0.9 len behind Harlex carrying 58.5kg at $2.60. First up last campaign 3rd of 10 in a Saddle Cl4 at Bathurst on April 25 2025 over 1400m, 2 len behind Jolly Good Fellow carrying 61kg at $3.70. Ran 3rd in a Gosford trial over 1000m on August 18. Watch the market.
