The Nivison Tips
Good The Nivison tips to take are to look for local Sydney-trained mares with form at the track and distance.
Backing the four-year-old mares in the field is a key The Nivison tip as from 2013-2025 10 of the 13 winners were four-year-olds.
Looking for mares drawn an inside barrier is also a top The Nivison betting tip as no mare has won the race from wider than gate nine since Balmont (barrier 10 in 2011).

Our Ladbrokes’ insider The Nivison 2025 betting tips and Rosehill betting selections on the Group 3 event his spring will be detailed in full below the week of the race so stay tuned for the mares to back and sack.
To Win: No. 3 In Flight
While favourite Gangsta Granny brings strong form into The Nivison, I’m siding with the ever-consistent IN FLIGHT (7) as the value runner in this year’s edition. The Flying Artie mare from the Joe Pride stable has been ultra-reliable and boasts a terrific record at Rosehill, winning two of five starts at the track. Although she’s yet to score over 1200m, this looks an ideal opportunity to tick that box. In Flight was outstanding through the winter, stringing together three consecutive wins across three different states, showcasing her adaptability across varying conditions — including a tough victory in the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes at Caulfield over New York Lustre. She resumed with a solid effort against The Everest-bound sprinters in the Group 3 Concorde Stakes (1000m), finishing a midfield sixth to Headwall but beaten less than two lengths in a race stacked with elite speed. She’ll strip much fitter second-up, drops back to her own sex, and faces a more suitable assignment this time around. Kept ticking over nicely with a recent trial, she stays on 56kg with Jay Ford retaining the ride and just needs to handle the extra furlong to be right in the mix. Genuine mare with strong Rosehill stats and plenty of upside — great value to upset the favourite.

The Nivison is a Group 3 race for mares aged four-years-old and above run and won in early October during the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.

For 2023 the race moved from Randwick to Rosehill Gardens Racecourse and now takes place as a support act on Hill Stakes Day.
Racing at the meeting is headlined by the lucrative Group 2 $2 million Hill Stakes (1900m). Other key races on the card include the $1.5 million Alan Brown Stakes (1400m), $500,000 Tapp-Craig (1400m), and the Group 2 $300,000 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) for potential The Everest-bound sprinters.
The Nivison is a 1200m sprint race offering $250,000, and it is contested at set weights plus penalties.
The race was inaugurated in 1994 and was originally known as the Tarien Quality Handicap (1994-1996) before being renamed in 1997, and it gained its current Group 3 status in 2013.
Mares in The Nivison field may be heading towards the $2 million The Invitation race run on The Everest Day at Randwick later in the month.
In 2023 Magic Time won The Nivison, ran third in The Invitation and then won November’s Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) as well as the 2024 All Aged Stakes the following autumn.
