The Nivison is a Group 3 race for mares aged four-years-old and above run and won in early October during the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.

For 2023 the race moved from Randwick to Rosehill Gardens Racecourse and now takes place as a support act on Hill Stakes Day.

Racing at the meeting is headlined by the lucrative Group 2 $2 million Hill Stakes (1900m). Other key races on the card include the $1.5 million Alan Brown Stakes (1400m), $500,000 Tapp-Craig (1400m), and the Group 2 $300,000 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) for potential The Everest-bound sprinters.

The Nivison is a 1200m sprint race offering $250,000, and it is contested at set weights plus penalties.

The race was inaugurated in 1994 and was originally known as the Tarien Quality Handicap (1994-1996) before being renamed in 1997, and it gained its current Group 3 status in 2013.

In 2023 Magic Time won The Nivison, ran third in The Invitation and then won November’s Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) as well as the 2024 All Aged Stakes the following autumn.
